  • Citroen XM 2.0i 1993 Suspension 26 Dec 2002 (Forum)
Suspension is locked in the sport mode meaning a hard ride. Dealer has confirmed no output from the Hydractive suspension ECU (H3 Version) to the front and rear electrovalves in the automatic mode. Would appreciate any help with regard to Citroen electrical wiring diagrams and trouble-shooting advice, especially pin-out details to the black and white 15-way plugs connected to the suspension ECU.
  • Peugeot 406 - Immobilizer light on, car fails to start 12 Apr 2014 (Forum)
I can hear the fuel pump priming, the engine turns over but it won't start because the injectors are disabled by the ecu. I have replaced the complete set of identical ECU, BSI unit and lock and key with transponder and no joy, exactly the same symptoms. ECU diagnostics check suggested the Comm 2000 unit could be at fault.

  • 2 litre zetec in mk2 fiesta no spark 7 Aug 2011 (Forum)
i have a mk2 xr2 to which i have fitted a 2litre zetec from a mk1 mondeo along with its engine management loom and ecu, everything is finished but there is no spark at the plugs, i have tried another coil pack which has made no difference what i would like to know is what does the ecu rely on during cranking to fire the plug, is it simply the crank position sensor or or other sensors involved?
  • Rover 200 (1995 - 1999) - 95 1.4 engine starts but cuts out after 1 second 8 Dec 2009 (Forum)
I have tried the door key code many thousands of times but it does not work, so i bought a second hand ecu, immobiliser and key fob. I think the ecu may have been the wrong one as, although the immobiliser was no longer a problem, the engine will not start, the starter motor is engaging and engine doesn't sound like it should.

After starting engine solonoid valve actuates. This valve has a 2 pin feed red/white 12v feed. Earth return to ecu brown/yellow. I have disconnected ecu multi plug and getting a 12v feed at earth return pin no 62. With ecu plug re attached and connecting multimeter across solonoid valve 2 pin plug ign on voltage at this point is only 9.8 volts any feed back greatly accepted
  • Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 01 1.6 ECU lamp -how do you clear it? 9 Dec 2008 (Forum)
The other day I put new battery in, took it for a spin but the positive terminal was loose so it brought up the ECU light as it juddered for a few moments. I reconnected pos terminal and car runs no problem I've tried disconnecting battery for 10 mins and reconnecting but the light stays on. Car is running perfectly and I don;t have time to take to dealers just to get light extinguished (I have recent diagnosis of serious illness and am currenly undergoing treatment).
  • FIAT Punto (1994 - 1999) - 1998 1.2 no spark 2 Aug 2008 (Forum)
He wrote on the breakdown report " live feed to coils and injectors no switching" He said it might be either the crank sensor or a relay or the ECU. He said to change the sensor first and if it doesnt work to do the relay and failing that, the ECU The fuel pump primes but there is no spark, my local (30 minute drive) scrapyard has the same model in but i have a mate who is an experianced mechanic says it is bound to be the ignition pack , saying the fuel wouldnt prime if ECU/crank sensor is faulty I dont realy want to buy the wrong bit/s for it obviously and i only have free car hire from AA till saturday lunchtime. If its the sensor or relay it would be handy (cheap).

  • 206 HDI ECU Problems? 7 Nov 2006 (Forum)
I haven't experienced this when the engine is up to temp so am guessing it's linked to cold starts and possibly the ECU? Any thoughts on what might be causing it would be very much appreciated - the car is still under warranty but it's always better to go the the garage with a rough idea of what the problem might be.
  • Vauxhall Astra G Petrol (1998 - 2004) - 01 1.6 - cutting out after startup 3 Jun 2008 (Forum)
If I started it and revvved it then it would be fine. The garage said they could not get it to stall and there were no error codes on the ECU. They then proceeded to upgrade the ECU software from v5 to v6. I went to the garage to pick it up. It started fine. As I had to fit the child car seat the engine idled for a while before I drove.
  • Challenge: Galaxy stalling, ECU & Radio! 28 Jul 2003 (Forum)
If the problem was that the ECU speed signal is derived via the radio, and the replacement radio & wiring didn't relay the signal on to the ECU properly (or interferred with the signal), why might it be so intermittant ? Anyone shed any light on any of this ?
  • Volkswagen Golf III (1992 - 1997) - (92-97) SPi 1.8 ADZ headache 19 Jan 2016 (Forum)
In VAG.COM measuring blocks, all the variables are all in green text, the ECU thinks they're all OK. There are no fault codes logged. The LPG ECU also gives no faults. So, what's up? I'm lost. Any ideas welcome...
  • Vauxhall Vectra B - Vectra ECU/Engine fault 23 Jul 2010 (Forum)
The ecu light is on the dash (engine symbol) of my 2000 vectra 1.8 16v and it runs pretty badly. I have read all the bumff i can find and believe it is fitted with a Siemens simtec 56.5 ECU with the diagnostics plug under the cover by the handbrake.
  • Ford Mondeo IV (2007 - ) - 09 2.0 Re-program ECU for wheel size change - why 23 Oct 2009 (Forum)
Presumably the only signal being fed to the ECU is from the ABS sensors so their 'target' on the hubs will be unchanged. I can understand why a correction would need to be made if the rolling radius changed because the speedo would be out but I'm a bit baffled about the rest.
  • Peugeot 206 hatchback (1998 - 2006) - 2000 1.9diesel timing advance soleniod 6 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Hi everyone, can anyone help, i have a 206 van 1.9 diesel non turbo 2000 x plate i bought the van 6mts ago and nae having mutch luck. first the imobiliser packed in so the garage bypassed it and put a standerd 12v stop solonoid in wirred to the egnition that sorted that problem. now the van sounds like it,s about to blow it chaps like made more so when it is cold and a nightmare to start. i put it into a diesel pump expert and they got back to me saying the timing advance solenoid was u/s so they put on a new one which made it go better but it still chapped so the got it back on the computer then tested wires and fuses and all the sensors and told me everything was in spec but the problem was the timing advance solenoid was getting power and sending a signal to the ecu BUT the ecu was,nt sending signal back to advance or retard timing they said the timing ADVANCE SOLENOID was sitting fully advanced, they said a ecu fault(LUCAS). now i found a other ecu with same numbers and was going to buy that but did,nt know if that would work the garage said it would work as the stop solonoid had been changed to work of the egnition instead of the imobiliser????
  • Vauxhall Astra G Petrol (1998 - 2004) - 1998 1.8 X18XE1 ECU failure? 22 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Can anyone tell me if this sounds plausible, I don't want to spend £300 - £800 on a new ECU if that isn't the problem. Thanks
  • Peugeot 206 hatchback (1998 - 2006) - 99 1.6 XS - 'Juddering' half cut outs 21 Jul 2008 (Forum)
My 206 has got me stumped and i am at the end of my rope with it even though so far in the quest to solve this its had a replacement decoded ECU and the Bugicord coil pack. Before the ECU was changed it was hesitent on the revs and also cut out often at junctions and sometimes did not want to restart. Since this has been changed things have improved but i still have what i can only describe as a 'judder'.
  • Rover 200 (1995 - 1999) - 1997 220 Diesel ECU problems 9 Nov 2007 (Forum)
I've taken it to Rover who diagnosed a faulty fuel shut off valve but want 300 pounds to change it and also to two garages who dont think its the shut off valve but a faulty signal from the ECU. My partner changed the valve himself and it hasnt made any difference but no one seems to know what the problem is and i have my grandad in hospital very very ill and im stuck without a flippin car.
