Lego builder Carl Greatrix submitted the Caterham concept and gained the required 10,000 votes between May and September last year. -
Classic ad of the week: 1980 Ladas 13 Feb 2015 (News)
Little wonder too, given that the cheapest Lada 1200 cost a mere £2280 – at a time when the tiny Mini City cost over £200 more. Then there was the rugged Lada Niva 4x4, forty per cent cheaper than a Land Rover at just £4273. Lada wanted some of the Niva’s toughness to rub off on to the rest of the range, hence this dramatic advert showing its latest models being thrashed and abused in all kinds of wild situations. -
MGLive! to celebrate 60th anniversary of BMC Competitions Department 19 Jan 2015 (News)
Leading the charge was the Austin-Healey arrived, which took on the world of rallying and racing and won. Its success was quickly followed by the world-beating Mini Cooper, which would go on to dominate in virtually all forms of motorsport, including winning three Monte Carlo Rallies. In its heyday, the Works department would also prepare numerous MGBs, including Paddy Hopkirk’s Sebring MGB roadster (the fastest B ever built in Abingdon), as well ‘Old Faithful’ - the Andrew Hedges and Julien Vernaeve-driven roadster that took victory on the 1966 Marathon De La Route. -

Second was the Toyota Aygo, found to be worth 60.2 per cent of its value, while the Suzuki Swift came third at 59.5 per cent. Others in the top ten included the BMW Mini at 58.9 per cent and the Citroen C1, which will keep 59.2 per cent of its list price, said Eurotaxglass's. Today’s Auction Prices Broadly in Line with Glass’s new Valuations 1 Aug 2012 (News)
New Book average trade price for a 2008/58 Ford Fusion 1.4TDCI Zetec Climate with an average 43k miles is £4,550, so the three at Blackbushe with lower than average mileage still made over book, assuming, of course, they were really sold. The three 09 reg MINI Cooper 1.6 Ds with a/c were broadly in line with Book adjusted mileage. The three 09 reg Audi A3 1.9TDI Sportbacks were pretty much bang on mileage and condition adjusted Book. (As usual, ‘s’ means sold. ‘p’ means top provisional bid, ‘pc’ means provisional, but close. ‘n/s’ means not sold. ‘n/w’ means miles not warranted. ‘MNW’ means unknown mileage. ‘dmg’ means damaged. -

Finalists Andy Nash and Mark Stewart are both previous Meguiar’s Club Showcase finalists – with Andy winning in 2016. However, that’s not why their cars have been chosen. Andy’s desire for a Mini Traveller came from his childhood memories of going out with his parent’s in their model. Named after his mother Betty, Andy did a 650mile round trip to buy the car even though it needed every nut and bolt replacing. -
HRDC To Recreate 1963 Touring Car Racing 20 May 2011 (News)
Nowadays, where can you see a proper Jaguar Mk2 running competitively, or, for that matter, a Lancia Flavia or Flaminia coupe, Alfa Romeo 2600 or early Giulia Ti, Vauxhall VX4/90, Mercedes-Benz 300SE, MG 1100, Mini 850, Ford Zodiac Mk3 or even an early model Ford Cortina GT? I know that many of these cars exist in historic race form, but most have been mothballed by disheartened owners, who have given up any hope of competing on a level playing field against over-developed homologation specials. -
