Peugeot 106 speedo no go 5 Jul 2004 (Forum)
*groan* Also has a whining noise from the front (no, not me) which I think is a wheel bearing type symptom rather than gearbox... Mrs S is 8 months pregnant so luckily isn't wanting/needing to drive herself round too much at the moment!!!!!!! Cheers -
New Car Air-con efficiency 12 Jun 2004 (Forum)
At its coldest, on recirculate, although significantly colder than outside, it just doesn\'t seem cold enough. In other cars I have driven, it\'s practicaly unbearable on the coldest setting. How cold should the air be entering the cabin? -
Move of The Week 31 May 2004 (Forum)
Don't know what driving manual this was from, but I bet it's interesting reading... Coming home from work last night, car tearing up bus lane(during operational hours) on n/s. Rapidly catching some other moron half in bus lane, he decides not to bother slowing down, but with 2 wheels & half the car on the pavement, pulls off a great undertaking manouvre & speeds on! 10/10 for style, execution & sheer brass... -

I have a birds nest (not my hair do) 18 May 2004 (Forum)
I actually have a birds nest in my car, in between the bumper and the radiator. It\'s well hidden and I can\'t get to it without jacking up the car and removing the bottom (renault megane sport tourer). I noticed it because I see the same bird come out of nowhere every time I start the car. -
Citroen Xsara exhaust 17 May 2004 (Forum)
Hi All, My Wife\'s Citroen Xsara 1.4 forte (Jan 2000) exhaust has just started to blow. I was just going to get the garage to look at it and change the damaged part eg back box etc but my Father in Law says you might as well change the whole system as soon as you change one part the other parts will start to go. -

Cheap diesel car for less than £1000 23 Jan 2004 (Forum)
I would prefer something easy to work on as I\'ll be changing the oil amongst other stuff myself. My mk3 1.3 fiesta is a delight to work on \'cos there\'s stacks of space under the bonnet. Just really wanted some opinions from a few DIYers. Are the fiesta diesels chain driven by the way ? The options are:- Fiesta Mk3/4 Peugeot 306 any others worth considering ? -
Getting the best out of your car 12 Jan 2004 (Forum)
My wheels are now around 3 years old. I drive it as if it\'s an extension of my own self. Now, I\'m sensitive about my own health (I have to be, at my age). So what this means is, my car gets driven \'sympathetically\', looked after, pampered, etc. My car rewards me with 100% reliability, and low costs. -
Mondeo Boot Leak 30 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Hi, I have noticed for the first time today I apparantly have water leaking into the boot of my car, almost all of the boot underlay is s**den. I have checked the rubber seals around the hatch and they seem ok, but the metal underneath the seals on each side of the hatch was also wet. Fingers crossed it may be a one off incident after a recent big downpour, but knowing my luck it is more complex than that. -

The water pump on my daughter,s 1.2 Nova 'banger' has just gone.I have managed to avoid playing with cars in recent times as I buy new ones. But I do have reasonable experience of working on most aspects of car repair. The car's not overheating or anything, so I guess it must be a simple issue. Anyone have any ideas as I am hoping it's a simple enough problem that I could remedy. Thx. S. -
Mondeo boot leak 25 Jun 2003 (Forum)
New to the pages, enjoying the discussions and have written a couple of reply's so far. We have a 99 T mondeo 5-door and have noticed some slight water ingress to the n/s rear section of the boot. (This has arrived while the car stood during a thunderstorm and not through driving the car in the wet). Is this a common problem, and can anyone shed any light on the problem? -

Bleeding cooling system BMW 18 Apr 2003 (Forum)
I replaced the antifreeze on friend\'s 5 series bmw 6 cyl. 1994. Job done... started it up, the temp. started rising well over half way, steaming all over the engine compartment. Tried to bleed it again on those two bleeders on top of radiator and on thermostat housing, no improvement. -
