Citreon Xantia no ABS?? 31 Mar 2006 (Forum)
Hi , My Dad has owned a Xantia LX Turbo diesel 1995 for six months, when we went to change the brakes we noticed it has ABS sensors fitted to each wheel. We did not think the car had ABS. We checked the manual and it says all xantias have ABS fitted. There are no warning lights on the dash or any problems with the brakes (except no ABS) will this fail the MOT as it booked in next week. -
1995 Rover 418 TD (square shape) 31 Mar 2005 (Forum)
On a drive back from the "Auld country" the old girl has developed a braking problem. As the brakes are applied it takes progressively more effort to stop and the pedal gets harder. After releasing the pedal the normal feel returns.I've tried to find a Haynes manual today but there doesn't seem to be one to cover this model (diesel) so I'm reluctant to fiddle about at the moment.Any help/diagnosis much appreciated -

Load Transfer 14 Oct 2005 (Forum)
Having seen a couple of threads where some confusing information has been given about load transfer under braking and cornering, I thought I might have a go at clarifying the subject. Firstly, I want to restrict the post to steady state behaviour - by which, I mean once the car is settled into the corner, or has been braking for some time, and the car body is no longer continuing to roll or pitch any further. -

'Keepers' - preservation of brake pipes, etc. 15 Mar 2023 (Forum)
Excellent for brake pipes. I've always just painted old engine oil on springs and subframes every three years or so. The only mechanical immobilisation I had on my first Audi (100 2.0E) was when the front anti-roll bar broke. -
