  In other words has anyone with for example a 2011 or 2012 car suffered the problem. Linked with this is the question of whether DPF technology is advancing and causing the problem to become less. Given the widely publicised problems with DPFs I would certainly be reluctant to buy a second hand diesel fitted with a DPF but there is always the doubt in the mind about whether the problem is that widespread or whether it is a relatively small percentage of owners causing the issue to be blown out of proportion.
