How to fix a 307's worn our DPF?

I have a Peugeot 307 SW HDI, bought new, 2002 or 2003 (not ex fleet!). 83,000 miles. I know the DPF needs dealing with but can a local service centre clean the filter as I certainly don't want a Peugeot main dealer to replace it. We bought this model with good intentions but it is catching up with us now (already had the flywheel fiasco - got half the cost back in the small claims court).

These have a complex Eolys fuelled DPF regeneration system that required the expert attention of someone familiar with it. Eventual;l;y the tank of Eolys runs dry and needs replenishing, but a lot of drivers get conned into a new DPF when this happens.

Makes sense of the 307. Up to seven forward-facing seats. Good to drive. Decent diesels.
