Worn brakes on car just bought 22 Apr 2007 (Forum)
My daughter and her husband bought a 53 plate Citroen Picasso from a very large car supermarket, which has a dodgy reputation. By the completion of the deal she wanted to punch the finance man who took over from the salesman. Unfortunately, while I was in another part of the place looking after the kids for them, they agreed to buy the car, a 1.6 petrol Citroen Picasso on a 53 plate, with 30k miles. -

The Search Begins - budget £8500 12 Jun 2022 (Forum)
So far we have tried out the following for size and drivers view with wires comments along side. Citroen C3 Picasso - Airy feel, high up, good vision all around. Nissan Quashqai - Felt too big inside, rear quarter vision not good. Honda Civic, Spoiler across back window spoils rear view. -
Vauxhall, Peugeot, Ford - WHICH USED CAR TO BUY 28 Oct 2021 (Forum)
Hi guys, I would like to buy a cheap used car and the majority of cars that I can find within my budget are Peugeot(2006-2011), Vauxhall Astra and Corsa(2005-2010), Ford Fiesta (2005-2011) and Ford KA (2005-2010) I am not really bothered about speed and aesthetics, all I care about is it being able to handle long journeys without problems that generally come up with cheap cars like Citroen. I would go for Toyota or Hyundai which I find to be the most reliable cars but they are out of my budget, so how well do you think Vauxhall Astra and Corsa age? Is Ford Fiesta of that age reliable ? -
Honda Jazz - Uncomfortable/Unsafe Driving Positions 20 Jul 2021 (Forum)
I just cannot find a comfortable position and am forced to drive with my left arm only which is unsafe. I don't have the problem when I was driving other makes (Peugeot/Citroen/Volvo). Its just seems to be with MY car (which was originally my ex-wife's car). Any suggestions? -
Mazda 3 - Brand new Mazda 3 2016 headlight condensation 12 Jan 2016 (Forum)
I have driven a number of Mazdas in the past (626, first 6, second 6, and the 2004. 3), and none of them had this issue. None of the other cars we have in the company had this issue - Citroen, Fiat, Honda, Toyota. Any other with the same issue? Maybe someone with solution? I intend to go to the dealership tomorrow, and claim this under warranty. -
Michelin Energy Saver opinions 10 Nov 2014 (Forum)
Hi there I'm currently looking to replace all four corners on my 1.4 Citroen Berlingo in the next couple of days. As like most people these days,I am feeling the pinch and have been trying out various "maximiling" techniques to try and squeeze every drop out of my ever contracting fuel tank! -
verso or c4 picasso - verso or c4 picasso another which or other? 13 Jul 2014 (Forum)
Touran too expensive would have to go alot older also although these looked great too? Toyota verso was original but with 8 k max the Citroen c4 picasso or Grande can be had for about 8k 2011 model. This looks great value Any opinions ! Also some long journeys but also lots of 10 mile trips or so, so I feel petrol is better for us? -
Volkswagen Golf V - Golf MkV - How long can I expect it to last? 17 Feb 2014 (Forum)
Hi, Need a used car at around £5000 and although I was never looking at a Golf my local dealer has offered me a choice of 2. It's the right size for what we need but I had thought about getting a 3-4 year old Citroen C3 Picasso, instead of an 8 year old Golf. The two both have around 80k miles, one is a 2.0 GT TDI, other a 1.9 TDI Sport. Which one is best? Is it realistic to expect 5 years and perhaps 75k miles out of it? -
Motability Renewal Options 11 Jan 2014 (Forum)
His Motability car is up for renewal from next month and Ive been trying to help him come up with a decent replacement for his Citroen C4. He never ventures onto the motorways at all and very rarely uses roads with speed limits in excess of 40mph. The car needs to be able to comfortably carry two car seats and an adult in the back also. -
Mercedes citan - Mercedes Citan Combi passenger vehicle UK? 26 Apr 2013 (Forum)
Will the UK be getting a full passenger version of the citan? Since Renault pulled the kangoo, the choice has been limited to a fiat doblo, citroen berlingo multispace or the peugeot partner tepee. It appears GM have decided not to bring the Vauxhall combo combi passenger car to the UK which is soled on mainland europe as a Opel Combo Combi passenger car. -
Qoros cars 19 Feb 2013 (Forum)
Definately got the Hyundai / Kia thing going for it there, although the deep sides and small windows scream "Citroen C5". 2) The back. Skoda must be wondering where their Superb bootlids have been disappearing off to. Bit of a Passat thing going with the roofline there too. 3) The estate. A bit of rebadging and you could pass that off as a Honda Accord. -
Any - SWIMBO Car 27 Sep 2012 (Forum)
Mrs SWIMBO has eventually decided that public transport is too inconvenient / impossible for her needs so she is going to get mobile again after 19 years away from the wheel. First thing is that she has set her heart on a SMART or possibly Citroen C1, i.e. something really small, and it has to be an auto. I know that she is going to need some refresher lessons after such a big gap without driving so I'm trying to arrrange this in a SMART or something similiar. -
DFSK Loadhopper - Chinese cars, now Chinese vans 8 May 2012 (Forum)
I seem like I am asking alot this past day regarding vehicles, but the business would benefit from at least 1 slim van, this really fits the bill. I looked at a Nissan NV200 instead of another Peugeot Partner or Citroen Berlingo, but the NV200 is more akin to the Toyota Hiace and the list price is expensive for what it is. Again, any advice welcome. -
Nissan Micra 1.0 - Advice on Rear Shocks please. 6 May 2012 (Forum)
I'm wondering if it's feasible if I do have the shocks changed, how sensible it would be to have adjustable ride shock absorbers fitted to render the suspension a bit more like a Citroen so that it rides a bit more smoothly over bumps. My reason for asking is that this is a local used car and here in S.Devon the state of the local roads is getting so bad that bumpy car ride is affecting my back injury. -
VW Golf - What to buy? 22 Jul 2011 (Forum)
A very good little runner, never let me down from new, however, now I find myself wanting to buy a small caravan, 1000kg ish, and don't know what type of car to replace my trustee old Polo with? I have looked at a Golf 1.9 TDI & poss a Citroen xsara 1.6 hdi, even a Berlingo!! I don't want to go down the Landrover route, (i just don't like them), nuff said - but an estate, hatchback or like as I have two dogs and want to camp at dog shows. -
Rolls Royce - Well I guess there might be a manual... 23 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Now he has come across a 'barn find' 1972 Series 1 Silver Shadow that he wants to buy but he tells me its brakes are seized. I told him if he knows Citroens he might get on ok with the Royce but he asked me if there is something like a Haynes manual for the model! I have put him in touch with the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts' Club French branch but I wonder if there's anywhere he might find such a thing that I haven't thought of? -
Peugeot Partner Combi (2001 - 2004) - Partner / Berlingo clutch operation 12 Dec 2009 (Forum)
I have, however, got an unused Mobility autoclutch I intended fitting to my old Land Rover that I now intend using on any new car. I dropped by the local Citroen dealers and asked the mechanics if Berlingo clutch was cable or hydraulic operation - they didn't know ! Question therefore is can anyone tell me if an old model 1.9 / 2.0 diesel Berlingo and Partner had cable or hydraulic clutch operation.
