All engines are 2.0-litre units with one petrol available - the xDrive20i which has an eight-speed Steptronic gearbox as standard. The diesels make up the majority of models though with sDrive18d, xDrive20d and xDrive25d versions. The xDrive18d will go on sale in November. Power and fuel economy have improved with the sDrive18d now delivering 150PS with claimed economy of 65.7mpg and 114g/km of CO2. -

Mitsubishi Price Cuts 12 Dec 2001 (News)
Its 2.4 litre GDI Space Wagon stablemate is reduced in price by £2,000 to a new retail price of £17,995. With 16% more power, better fuel economy and lower emissions, Mitsubishi's Shogun Sport 2.5 Turbo diesel models remain the same price starting at £18,995. The petrol version remain unchanged starting at £22,995. Similarly the Shogun gains specification for 2002 with no price increase. -

This engine will also appear in the 318Ci convertible to be priced at £24,845. The 136bhp 2.0 litre diesel engine gets common rail direct injection taking it to 150bhp and 243 lb ft (330Nm) torque. Fuel economy is 51.4mpg in the EU combined cycle and the 320d will also be available for the first time with a 5-speed automatic gearbox. -

The Yaris powered 1.4 MINI One diesel is the UKs slowest-depreciating used car, according to new analysis of the residual values of three-year-old vehicles carried out by EurotaxGlass's, publisher of Glass's Guide. It currently has an average trade-in value of 63.2 per cent, better than that of any other used car currently on sale. -

There is also Ford's familiar 1.0-litre 100PS EcoBoost petrol, which is also the most honest engine when it comes to Real MPG fuel economy . -

The introduction of the new Greener Vehicle Discount follows a successful 18-month campaign led by Volvo Car UK, which called for a review of the previous Alternative Fuel Discount of the congestion zone charging by London Mayor Boris Johnson. Twin Drive Petrol/Electri Hybrid From SEAT 24 Jan 2009 (News)
The initial aim is for Twin Drive-equipped SEATs to run on electricity in urban areas, switching seamlessly to conventional petrol or diesel power for longer trips out of town. Most interesting are the two new PSA/Ford 1,399cc aluminium block, common rail direct-injected HDI diesels. Power output of the 8 valve HDI is 70bhp with 150Nm (111 lb ft) torque. While power output of the 16 valve HDI is 92bhp with 200Nm (148 lb ft) torque. With 65bhp per litre, this is now the most efficient engine available in cars of the C3's size. -
