  • 306 remote central locking 4 May 2007 (Forum)
Hi guys, I have a 2000 306 XSI, a while ago the remote central locking stopped working, i put new batteries in it but it still wont work, ive heard that pugs are notorious for electrical problems and that the wire in the doors can wear causing problems with locks randomly locking/unlocking. When i lock the doors with the key all doors lock/unlock fine and there is no wire damage.
  • agggggh mondeo central locking 26 Mar 2007 (Forum)
i have an 02 mondeo 1.8 lx. the central locking system works fine with the key but if i try to lock the car with the key fob the car locks then unlocks immediately. i have replaced the battery in the fob and i have tried reprogramming the fob as told in the manual but still it happens. theres no gap, not even a second between it locking then unlocking it just does it straight away. i know i could just lock it with the key but i want to exchange the car and want everything working well.
  • HELP !!!!!!! Audi A4 will not start !!!! 7 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Also the drivers information system is not working along with fuel gauge. I've tried disconnecting the battery for a while but it made no difference. Could it be the ECU ? or one of the million sensors !! Any help would be much appreciated, all the best a rather peed off Benno
  • Renault clio Starting problem 20 Dec 2005 (Forum)
Could be a sensor, or the igition lock or anything?? But which sensor? Or could it be the key fob? I've checked the battery connections and they are ok. Anyone got any ideas? Because it is intermittent its difficult to diagnose. Thanks

  • 99T Mondeo 2.5 V6 pinking 19 Aug 2005 (Forum)
I've run a can of PowerBoost through it, which seemed to work, but it re-appeared again a few days later. I've disconnected the battery to clear the ECU memory. I am not going to waste my money taking it to a Ford dealer. It has only started about 5K ago. A full service at 120K had no effect. I would appreciate any further advice
  • Mondeo Remote locking 19 Aug 2005 (Forum)

  • Dash lights - '93 405 14 Aug 2005 (Forum)
And now I'd like a little advice please. I've got a '93 L Peugeot 405 1.6 that runs fine but recently the dash warning lights (oil, battery, STOP, temp, fuel) all come on together occasionally if I brake hard or corner enthusiastically (not that I do that m'lud). The car shows no sign of being about to stall and carries on running ok.
  • Rover 800 immobilised 8 Feb 2005 (Forum)
My neighbour's Rover 800 Vitesse (1995) has stpped - never to go again. My neighbour's crime was to change the battery on the car and now it is immobilised and the car wont start! We asked the Rover garage if there was an emergency code that could be accessed through the judicious use of the door lock in particular sequence but the garage said there was no emergency code for the car (they fed the chassis number into the discus system).
  • 97 VW Jetta Check Engine Light 14 Sep 2004 (Forum)
Can anyone help me get it to turn off or help me trouble-shoot the problem? I tried disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes, and the light is still on.
  • Fiesta 2003 central locking 23 Jul 2004 (Forum)
It's another intermitent problem this time with the central locking, the remote key fob sometimes fails to lock and unlock the car doors. So far, I've had the battery replaced in the Key fob after that Ford replaced the remote control section of the Key fob and I'm still experiencing the problem. Is anyone else experiencing or has experienced this problem with their Fiesta?
  • rover 416 engine imobiliser prob 7 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Got a Rover 416 in today with a imobilser prob. It seems both key fobs (with brand new batteries installed) wont turn off the engine imobilser. (well they do eventually but after almost 50 presses!) , i know that you can dissable the immobilisation by using the drivers door key to enter the code, but we cant find the code anywhere.

  • Peugeot 306 - Lights on Warning 22 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Mother left lights on the other day, result flat battery RAC call-out. Checking the car found warning sounds when using passenger door but not drivers door. Should it work on both doors or is this something Peugeot have missed on right-hand drive? Its a 1998 R-reg Diesel Turbo.
  • Astra Flickering Lights 21 Aug 2003 (Forum)
It affects all lights from headlights to interior light and dash lights and gets worse with load. Garage says alternator is within spec, but surely its not right. With a meter across the battery, with no load its charging at nearly 14.5v with a full load its about 12.2v. Whilst lights are flickering voltage oscillates about 0.6-0.8v. I suspect voltage regulator but any ideas? Or is the garage fobbing me off as its under warranty.
  • alternator dead or not? 11 May 2003 (Forum)
As I pulled away from work last night all my car (1994 Astra 1.7 TD) electrics went dead and loads of smoke came from under the bonnet. A wire from battery to alternator had chafed through and shorted. I have replaced the burnt out wiring this morning and cannot find anything else damaged, but the alternator now won't charge. (rev counter wont work and the charge light stays on) Could the alternator have been damaged by shorting the 12v output wire to earth while it was running?
  • A Mini Adventure 15 Feb 2003 (Forum)
Salesman comes running and across and tells me I shouldn't sit in the cars without asking. Alarm can't be turned off because the car battery is flat. I ask to test drive one and am told there's a two day notice period for test drives. I gaze across the empty showroom, smile politely and walk away. The end (of their chances of selling me a car).
  • Possible Immobiliser Problem 30 Dec 2002 (Forum)
I can seemingly de-activate the immobiliser and the LED changes from red to green. Try to start, all warning lights come on with ignition, turn to start position and nothing. Battery is good. Once the car starts all is well. Is this likely to be an immobiliser problem or something wrong with the car? Any suggestions where to look will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Servelan.

  • Toyota Auris Touring Sports - Auris TS hybrid test drive 13 Jun 2016 (Forum)
I noticed that the battery seemed to stay between 80-100% full. This is fine but I was wondering whether I should somehow use more of the range of the battery. My thinking is that surely this means I wasn't using all the battery and was therefore guilty of lugging the battery around and only using a small amount of it.
