New runabout required! 22 Sep 2008 (Forum)
I will probably try to get a used example, as I don't do a lot of miles per year (max 5000) so it'd be a waste of money to get a really expensive car, unless it was pleasurable to drive - the Jazz was exactly that, whereas the Mazda 2 felt quite underpowered. Any suggestions on a car that I haven't thought about? Thanks. -
Please help me choose a car 24 Jun 2008 (Forum)
I want a petrol 1.4 or 1.6, to keep insurance down. A Focus would fit the bill, but I have been attracted by the Corolla, and Mazda-3 because of their supposed greater reliability. However, I hired a Corolla about 6 years ago and I remember what an awful gearchange it had. Am I right in thinking Ford gearboxes are the most precise? -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 05 2.0 TDCi - Change it or keep it? - comments wel 14 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Big question - do I keep it for a while, since the things that seem to go wrong on these have all been recently replaced, or do I punt it before the warranty expires? Noticed advice on the perennial Mazda 6 diesel thread, to a guy who has bought a Mondeo - "get rid of it before the warranty expires", but remember earlier on the original Mazda 6 diesel engine failure thread 'Screwloose' saying that only a small percentage of TDCis give trouble but in his experience every Mazda6 diesel will come to grief given time. -

Skoda Octavia or Madza 6 Diesel 1 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Hi all, I have often read but this is my 1st post. Looking to buy either an Octavia or a Mazda 6 diesel (I drive about 28,000 miles a year commuting from Essex to the Lake District. My current car is a 1999 Octavia with the old 1.6 AEE 8 Valve 75BHP engine and although overtaking has to be planned well in advance it cruises all day at 75mph and does about 45mpg. -
Main dealer labour rates? 31 Mar 2006 (Forum)
Can anyone shed any light? I can?t believe that the parts for a Mazda 323 are that much more expensive that a Ford Focus on which it?s based. I intend to investigate labour rates before I choose my next car and would be most interested to hear which make of car is typically cheapest to service through a main dealer. -

How can side airbag activate w/o impact? 26 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Could my electrical system have made this malfuntion? How could have this car initiated the activation of my airbag? This is a Mazda Millenia - 2002. Shop foreman at Mazda says so far that nothing shows to why the airbag went off (car still at the shop). Car had a minor collision in front - 1-1/2 years ago - where they replaced bumper and hood. -

Miller Xedos 30 Jan 2003 (Forum)
Just looking on the Autotrader site for a mazda Xedos. Spotted one descibed as a Miller 2.3, price (£12k, way above my price range) much much higher than anything else on the list. Anybody know what's different about it? Just curious. -

Mazda diesel 11 Nov 2019 (Forum)
Note that the gen-1 (you're presumed price range) CX-5 only comes in auto version with the 2.2TD, it comes with both on the gen-3 Mazda 6. I would seriously think about the size of car needed, as the top 3 on that list are smaller. If you prefer Mazdas, then I'd look at the gen-3 Mazda3 in 2.0 petrol form, if its big enough for your needs, as its quicker (but not quick as per my earlier comments), handles better (the others are still excellent) and more frugal than the CX-5 and 6 and cheaper to buy/insure/run.
