  • Best Spark Plugs ? VW Beetle (new shape) 8 Jan 2004 (Forum)
Changing plugs on New Beetle 1.6 (same as Golf etc 1.6) - what\'s the best plugs ? Copper ones fitted from new \'went off\' well before due date of 40k - more like 25K or so - platinum/iridium/Yttrium presumably better ? Is the make of plug critical (as in build-quality) - so are NGK/Denso/Bosch best bet ?

  • What does Coil light staying on mean 25 Nov 2003 (Forum)
I have Ford Galaxy 1.9TDI (S reg) and the Coil light is staying on. At the same time this happened a rear light bulb failed. What action should I take? Is it safe to drive the car? If its a garage repair can you recommend a good local diesel specialist in the North West London / Watford area.
  • Customer Service. 11 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Mrs PU is still pursuing the Motorcycle bug. She wanted a helemet. Whilst we were up in Cheshire this weekend we visited J&S Motorcycles at Northwich. Superb Customer Service. Young chap approached her as she gazed at the Shoei display. He then spent a good twenty minutes until they found what would suit. Nothing was too much trouble, including searching for the "right" colour through dozens of boxes.
  • RAV4: petrol or diesel 8 Oct 2003 (Forum)
Damian Glad to hear you\'re still in one piece. There\'s a road test of the RAV4 on the site, and also the Avensis which shares the diesel engine, and probably the petrol ones too for that matter. With a low mileage, petrol might be the way to go - get a bike for the urban journey - will save petrol and engine wear :-) Personally I\'d go for the diesel as a real world performer, but in reality with a Toyota you won\'t go wrong with either way.
  • Is the Nissan NX100 a 'girly car'? 1 Oct 2003 (Forum)
My b/f and I have looked at a couple of NX100's to find something to replace his current car, and while we both really liked them he is concerned that they look like a bit of a woman's car!!! I don't think they do, but I've got some convincing to do - especially as we've seen a gorgeous metallic blue one that I absolutely loved!!!
  • Opel Parts Online 29 Sep 2003 (Forum)
Does anyone know where I can get part numbers and pricing for the 17D Isuzu engine fitted to my friend?s 1996 Opel Combo he runs here in Jordan? Either online or without obligation by email? The dealer here does not have the right parts catalogue. It is the same non-turbo engine used by Vauxhall. Would Vauxhall part numbers be recognised by an Opel dealer abroad?
  • Peugeot 106 Noisy reverse 29 Sep 2003 (Forum)
Nice clean car drives well and stops well. However I notice that the reverse gear is quite noisy paticularly if I reverse up the drive. It\'s not a grinding noise just a cyclic straight cut gear type noise. Is this normal for this box, does your 106 sound noisey in reverse? Thanks
  • Ashtray/Cd tray Mk5 Fiesta 28 Aug 2003 (Forum)
I have a Mk5 fiesta and it came as standard with a ashtray fitted. I have seen several other Mk5's that are fitted with a Cd storage tray/coin holder fitted as a optional fit item instead of the ashtray. Does anyone know if this is available as a spare part conversion, i've tried my ford dealer and they are saying that its a production line fitted item only.

  • How hard can it be? 29 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Alf, at least on two separate occasions I\'ve asked you to watch your language when posting. it\'s also been pointed out to you that there is no point trying to defeat the swear filter by swapping characters in the swear words. I simply cannot be bothered editing you post with several \"pink fluffy dice\" comments.

  • Car Speed Limited by GPS 3 Jun 2003 (Forum)
Did anyone else just hear the article on Radio 1's Newsbeat (12:55)? Was about a car that uses GPS positioning with a database of speed limits, to limit the speed of a car. The reporter was in a 30 zone in Leeds and put his foot to the floor and the car wouldn't go above 30!
  • Your first 'love' 10 May 2003 (Forum)
When I was a spotty youth in the mid 70's, I fell seriously, seriously in love with a particular type of car and still admire its looks and styling all these years later. The car ? A Vauxhall Royale Coupe - sleek looking yet pratical (just like my wife!).
  • MOT self pre check 23 Apr 2003 (Forum)

  • Iveco Daily 35-12 lwb 23 Apr 2003 (Forum)
It's a motorhome & some of you guys may have tinkered with 'em..... 1997, rear disc brakes, & I am assuming "drum in hat" for the handbrake? What is the correct way to strip it all down? The n/s handbrake does not work, & it's not the cable-for once. OR, dare I ask: is there a truck site to equal this mighty affair?! Many thanks Hedge

I read that this is expected in the UK in June. Must say it looks very interesting at a time when too many cars look alike. I've never really been...
