immobilser removal - Pug 306TD 5 Apr 2004 (Forum)
306 turbo diesel lucas fuel pump. The above mentioned piece has an immobilser fitted to it, I have been advised I can remove a steel plate and take the immobiliser relay out of it. This is not due to theft or anything, I bought a complete engine to replace a normal aspirated engine. -

Ford Focus - DPF problem - 2.0 Diesel Focus 2006 8 Aug 2018 (Forum)
The thing is, the DPF is brand new including the pressure sensor and all of the wiring. I believe p2002 means: Trouble Code: Diesel Particulate Filter Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1 A regeneration was done and the light reset, within half a day it was back. Same code. Went back to the garage, they have suggested? -
Ford Focus - Ford Focus - Which Diesel Engine? 6 Feb 2014 (Forum)
Having looked at the options available within my budget, I'm pretty settled on looking for an 05/06 Diesel Focus. Now I'm just stuck on which engine to go for. It looks as though there isn't much in it between the 1.6 and 1.8 litre engines in terms of economy and performance. I have heard some advice not to go for the 1.6 as the DPF can cuase problems. -
Peugeot 307 CC - Conked out! 9 Aug 2012 (Forum)
It was low on fuel (but not to the point that the warning light was on) so, he topped it up with diesel and it started. However, he couldn't get our car 'to talk' to his computer, and so was unable to diagnose the fault... -
Toyota RAV 4 (2000 - 2006) - 2002 2.0 Diesel Flywheel failure? 9 Dec 2011 (Forum)
If so, is it a common problem and has anyone else got a goodwill contribution? Interestingly, one comment on the other forum suggested that changing the fuel filter cured the problem - any ideas? Thanks, Mike {amended to include drop down menu selection} -
KIA Ceed Sport 2L Diesel - Rapid Tyre Wear 20 Mar 2011 (Forum)
I have a 2009 KIA Ceed Sport 2litre diesel with 17” alloy wheels. It has done a little less than 17,000 from new. I have a couple of problems that I would like your opinion on. The car was fitted with Michelin 225/45 R17 91W tyres and the front ones need replacing. -
Vauxhall Astra/Meriva pricing? 15 May 2010 (Forum)
The only two auto options are strangely the basic 1.6ltr which is underpowered and has poor fuel consumption and the most powerfull diesel engine which lists at a staggering 22K plus depending on the version. Then last week I looked at the new Meriva hoping to find something in my budget, but again for the single auto diesel option a list price of over £20k My local vauxhall dealer which has had discouunts of over £3000 on the windscreens on base Astras (an all new model only on the market for 4 months!) -

Choosing an SUV for long drives? 28 Jun 2023 (Forum)
I am not sure what the petrol+electric mode is called in order to do further research. The CR-V 1.6L 2WD Diesel is the car I have done the most research into. I was disappointed to discover that recent versions of the Honda CR-V are not available in diesel, and I am concerned about getting a bad DPF if I get a used diesel. -

Ford Fiesta - Fiesta 1.4 TDCi won't start 22 Jan 2013 (Forum)
Than one day the display shoed AC Fail! Before that my mechanic told me we need to change the diesel filter. OK. So we did. The other mechanic changed the High Preasure pump and it still won't start. He told me to try a different diesel fuel - I live in Hungary - because we have some -25C at night here and the regular diesel is so bad here, it will get frozen or something. -
Diesel engine destroying itself? 6 Jun 2009 (Forum)
I've only seen similar to this once before when i saw a Discovery 1 sitting on the side of a dual carriageway revving itself to death..but that i seem to recall was white smoke, which i believe would be pure excess diesel and not oil being burnt. Wasn't there a problem with seals going on Discovery/Defender fuel pumps that could cause this? I may well be wrong..much to the amazement of regulars here..;) Now i ruminated over this for a while as you do and tried to work out the best way to stop this occurring once a diesel engine has started to consume itself, i have a theory which would require nerves of steel and would probably be impossible in an automatic. -
Time for a change? Opinions? 17 Jan 2005 (Forum)
I was wondering would it be better for me to buy a newer smaller engined petrol which would be nearly as economical and requires less servicing, the fuel would be cheaper and being newer i woulndt need to spend as much on repairs/ parts wearing out. I know this reverts to the old diesel v petrol debate, but considering my circumstances, is it really worth me having a diesel? -

Aviation fuel taxes 17 Jul 2006 (Forum)
No one likes paying any taxes so give any government an opportunity to charge you a tax or even tax on tax as we pay VAT on Excise Duty on petrol/diesel and tell you its for your own good and they will take it. The current big target for the tree huggers is aviation fuel and the fact that it isn't taxed and that somehow this is wrong and it should be for our own good of course.
