immobilser removal - Pug 306TD - r1ch1e
306 turbo diesel lucas fuel pump.
The above mentioned piece has an immobilser fitted to it, I have been advised I can remove a steel plate and take the immobiliser relay out of it. This is not due to theft or anything, I bought a complete engine to replace a normal aspirated engine. Anyway, I have removed the pump from the car and I\'m unsure as to where this relay is hidden and dont want to start removing parts that dont need removing. If anyone knows anything about this I would appreciate it.

I knwo the bit you are talking about; I haven't really looked at it in detail before though.

There is an anti-theft device fitted to the pump (Which do give trouble...) - I think I have one at work stashed under the bench. I'll have a looksee tommorrow for ya.

That would be fantastic. I have now got the pump of the car, I can see behind a metal plate a large black metal box which I believe is he immobiliser relay, the plate also extends over the top of the stop solenoid so I think if I can get access to the stop solenoid, I could simply hard wire that to the ignition and it should effectively open it when the ignition is on and bypassthe immobiliser rely.

I have managed to remove the immobiliser unit and replaced the stop solenoid with one that works on my loom, It would appear there is an extra wire runs of the immobilser unit and down to something on the front of the pump? it then comes back out and connects to the fast idle lever and looks like its a ground trigger, I need to know if this wire should also be live?

That wire goes to the cold start advance device IIRC - leave it disconnected for the moment?
