  • Pedestrians not on the pavement 26 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Since this recent cold spell I've noticed an increasing number of pedestrians choosing to walk in the road rather than on the snow covered pavement, I've seen several cars having to swerve to avoid someone unexpectedly deciding to hop into the road because they thought it was a safer route. I wonder what is potentially more dangerous, slipping on the icy pavement or being clipped by a vehicle?
  • Things seen on a Sunday afternoon trip 26 Oct 2009 (Forum)
Came accross a group of motorcyclists (3, 2 "under training") yesterday - all three displaying L plates including the one with the "instructor" tabard. Honda Accord with yellow label of a large Scottish care dealer on the outside of the screen COVERING the high level brake light! Wonder how often they wash thier car?

  • Passat - scuttle plenum chamber creaking 19 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Just wondered where this is on my VW because I've always assumed that the creaking from my car is my dash as per the extract from the HJ Passat review below. 'Creaking dash' might actually be the underbonnet plastic cover over the scuttle plenum chamber creaking. Cured by silicone grease on the tough points.
  • Tesco Parking Enforcement 24 Dec 2006 (Forum)
My local Tesco (Oakham, Rutland) has installed what appear to be ANPR cameras covering the one road into and out of the car park. I suppose that this will automate parking enforcement but will the Penalty Charge income exceed the cost of the system? The parking is certainly popular with people who want to shop at Tesco and walk into the town centre for other shopping.
