The dealership promised took my car in part ex and promised to deliver the stamped service book but are unable to get the previous owner to deliver the service history.
  • MINI Cooper + Cooper S - Warranty Service Plan 5 Jun 2011 (Forum)
Well I decline the warrant and service package. Still have 2weeks to take it if I want it. Also found out that they own Harry Fairbains BMW dealership in Geffnock Glasgow. Not to far from me. So I'm wondering should I take the warranty & service plan which I believe I could use at the BMW dealership or just stay clear. Thanks for any advice Ian
  • 4x4 - what is really useful setup? 3 Jan 2011 (Forum)
[1] Standard FWD with open differential (most cars nowadays) [2] Standard RWD with open differential (Mercedes, BMWs etc, Mazda RX8 probably has a rear diff lock) [3] FWD with viscous coupling to drive RWs if FWs lose traction (many 4x4s like Panda 4x4, Toyota RAV4, BMW X5 etc.) [4] Permanent 4WD with a central lockable differential (Land Rovers, Daihatsu Terios) [5] Part time 4WD - usually RWD but transmission shaft can engage FWs manually.

  • Jaguar - New compact Jag? 31 Jul 2009 (Forum)
XJ40 showed the way in the 80s - can't we do something like that now, long, low, sleek yet with nicely blockish forms? I really would love to support Jag but the new F01 BMW 7 and the renderings I've seen of F10 5-series and F30 3-series based on current practice at Munich show that Jag is going to have a fight on its hands as BMWs become classy and handsome once more - and Johnny Coldcaller and his family are going to buy yet another 320D Touring, leaving Jag losing out on valuable business for want of a suitable competitor.

  • Had a dodge down the auction... 4 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Both around two years old, 1.8 turbos, leather, so good spec, £10K anybody? Similar age drop-top BMWs and Mercs were making £5K more. Had no idea what an 07 Mini Cooper would make - £10K exactly is the answer. I over-priced a couple of Honda Accord diesel estates, thought Hondas were meant to hold their price.

  • not another out of company car Q :o) 6 Dec 2007 (Forum)
Type-R is out of question as I wont have fuel card, just 17p a mile. done my insurance quote of a 330d bmw at 515 a year. thats £41 a month. RFL is 200 a year thats £16 a month, so say £60 a month for them two. so got £300 a month, thats about £6000 finance over two years. so the only choices to me are (and company stipulate it has to be under 4 years old and 60K miles or less) peugeot 407 saloon/hatch/estate hdi -£7K honda accord 2.2 cdti. -£6500 would love bmw 330d - 4 door m sport - but £12K !
