  • Audi Valuations - Opinions please 21 Nov 2005 (Forum)
Can anyone improve on what I found on the Auto Trader site? I coudn't find much to compare it with. Apparently this is an import, hence the 2.8 petrol, as opposed to the 2.4. Audi A6 SE 2.8 Saloon 30 500 miles Registration X November 2000 Manual gearbox (5 gears) CD radio (temperamental) 6 CD jukebox Green/blue Metallic paint (some small repairs needed) UK spec import MOT renewed November 2005 - 12 months remaining.
  • 5 year service: dealer or garage ? 5 Jul 2003 (Forum)
It's now out of warranty and I am unsure whether to get it serviced at the dealer's or elsewhere. According to the service book, nothing important needs doing for the 5-year service (apart from engine oil + filter). I had the timing belt replace last year. What would you do ? Also, what function has the pollen filter exactly and is it important to have it replaced ?
  • Where is everyone? 21 Oct 2002 (Forum)
I have a import business which has been doing reasonably well. In August 2001 we were understandably quiet, and sales picked up in September until Bin Ladens pilot's had their day. Three weeks later, it was business back as usual.

  • Toyota Estima - Imported Estima vs 1.4 Sharan…or something else?!? 3 Mar 2024 (Forum)
I’m in the market for a spacious (and reliable) used 7 seater with a budget of £12,500 Must haves are: petrol, auto, heated front seats, raised seating position OR comfortable drive (due to my disability), reversing camera, room for 2 teenagers in all of the rear 5 seats (so no Qashqai+2 for ex.) but also not as big as a van styled motor such as the Alphard or Berlingo Would be nice: leather/half leather trim, tray tables to back of front seats, half decent mpg After much deliberation I’ve cut it down to an imported Estima vs 1.4 Sharan - around an 11 plate or newer, with less than 100k on the clock and good history (Verso is too small, XC90 worries me with repair bills, don’t fancy a Zafira, Galaxy, S Max, Grand Picasso, or Alhambra) Have I missed anything worth considering - such as an older X5?
  • Obtaining keycodes for imports 2 Apr 2003 (Forum)
The system can't interogate the existing key to obtain the codes as they are only used to active the key and are not stored on it. Alfa UK state that as it is an Irish import, Alfa Eire should be contacted. Unfortunately they don't seem to keep the codes, as they issue a card with this information with the driver's pack (not issued in the UK at the request of the ABI).

  • Mazda - Short Term Insurance for Imported Mazda 5 Apr 2009 (Forum)

  • Tyre Recommendations 9 Aug 2006 (Forum)
I need two tyres which are 245/35 on 18" rims. Noise is not really an issue, or rather it would be but it'll be drowned out; grip is important, especially in the wet; longevity would be nice but not the most important. Any particular recommendations ? Its got Dunlop something or others at the moment which seem ok, but not outstanding - its got the same model on the back and without the traction control I suspect that it would break away quite a lot.
  • LHD 968 Porsche from Japan 5 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Hi all I have found an imported 968 in a light mettallic green imported by a garage from Japan. It is a '92 plate 3000cc 4 cylinder. Current Klms 80K, last recorded service 56K Klms. I have owned the old 944 turbo 8 or so years ago and an 86 924S.
  • Computer related questions. Volume 42 7 Feb 2005 (Forum)
The new laptop is fab, only problem is McAffee, which is driving me mad and is set to be removed if it doesn't buck its ideas up ;) I was a bit surprised to receive the hard drive from my old laptop in the post this morning, as I thought it was gone forever. Luckily I did back up all the important stuff before I sent the machine away, but there is some not so important stuff (photos etc) that I would like if possible. How do I go about getting info off this hard drive then? Do I need to take it somewhere to be plugged into something and burnt to CD?

  • Toyota Townace 3 Feb 2001 (Forum)
Hello, Can anyone give me any advice on the pitfalls of buying an imported Toyota Townace ? These imports seem to have excellent specification for the money and I understand there are quite a few dealers/distributors who can supply parts etc. However, my insurance company won't consider this type of vehicle when I have to soon change my splendid (145,000 mile) MK1 Nissan Prairie.

Ability to re-sell is quite important though. Happy to lose a few quid for the experience but not all of my money. Thanks.
