  • Hijacking - worth reading. 23 Sep 2003 (Forum)
If you are, drive to the nearest police station. If you think it's safe to enter your driveway and you have a remote control, drive through the gate and stop immediately afterwards, leaving the car in reverse until the gate closes. Don't just drive through and leave the gate standing open for anyone to enter. If you have to get out of the car to open the gate, switch off the car, leave the key in the ignition, close the car door and open the gate.

  • Toyota Corolla 26 Aug 2002 (Forum)
The clutch bites very near the floor (had been told it has had work done on it). There is a bit of rust in a few places but this is the thing that worries me. On the tail gate (it is a 5 door liftback) there two lines along the tailgate near the roof exactly horizontal from the windscreen out. It looks like the tail gate has been made out of two separate ones (a cut and shut tailgate if you will).
  • Fiesta tdci 1.4 - Turbo not boosting 14 Jan 2015 (Forum)
Since then the turbo will not boost. I have checked the turbo itself and I is fine. Had a mighty vac on the waste gate and that's working fine too. All the vacuum pipes and intake pipes are fine. The four inlet manifold seals are in a good clean condition and located correctly. There are no fault codes. All the injectors have gone back in the same order they came out and it's running fine...

  • Ford Fiesta - Ford 1.8 Endura DE cambelt query 12 Apr 2013 (Forum)
I replaced my 1.8 NA engine(58 hp) cambelt. I got a gates kit, and the new belt is not as wide as the Motorcraft belt from Ford. Also, it is fitted too close to the pulley edge inward and the belt gets hot under operation. Is this normal? Any suggestion about how to check the tension using thumbs is welcome.

  • Jaguar X-Type (2001 - 2009) - auto question? 19 Jan 2008 (Forum)
I had a look at, though not a drive of, a very nice 3.0 V6 SE today. The J gate auto does not seem to have a "Tiptronic" type function, it is either fully auto or, when the lever is moved around to the hook of the J, manual selection of 2, 3, or 4 only, i.e. no option to flick up and down the ratios like the BMW system I am familiar with.
  • Ford Ka water ingress around tailgate. 15 May 2007 (Forum)
I have noticed a few drops of water inside the car at the rear tailgate, more or less in the centre of the car, where the jack sits. Will it be the tailgate rubber seal do you think ? I have tried adjusting the tail gate lock so that i get a tighter fitting tailgate, but there does not appear to be a way of adjusting it at all. Any help and advice please, Thanks all. Graham.
