Accident Repairs - Advice please 10 May 2007 (Forum)
The damage done was along the lines of: - badly scraped and bent bumper - wing lightly scratched and pushed out of shape, closing the panel gaps with both the bonnet and front door - headlight pushed well out of alignment, upwards and inwards - scuffed alloy Picked the car up from the bodyshop today, and noticed that the alignment of bumper/wing/headlight is very poor - noticable gaps (3-5mm) compared with the other side (which was all renewed after the first accident 8 wks ago!). -
Front tyre wear Mondeo mk2 8 Mar 2007 (Forum)
The car is not driven particularly hard, and most of its mileage is on motorways. I had a four wheel alignment check/adjustment done when the Falkens were fitted and the printout showed everything to be within factory tolerances. That was 20k ago though. The car still steers straight at present, and there are no signs that anything is overly worn or out of alignment. -
Leon TDI - NSF Tyre Wear 2 Jan 2005 (Forum)
Currenly on Dunlop SP Sport 01's, previously on Pirelli P6000, Eagle NCT's, B F Goodrich Touring and Yokohama A301, all of which were correctly balanced and aligned, but wore in the same way. The steering, suspension, alloys have not been modified in any way I have my alignment checked reqularly and has only required adjustment when I last replaced my front tyres. -
BMW 3 Series - BMW 320d front outer edge tyre wear? 30 Oct 2022 (Forum)
The front are also in good condition it's only the outer edge of them that has worn. I've heard that this might be caused by wheel alignment. BMW use KDS but can this be sorted using Hunter? -
Honda Jazz - How much does a garage charge to swap tyres? 4 Sep 2019 (Forum)
Hi, I have booked a garage to change an old tyre with wheel alignment service. I wonder if I could ask the garage to exchange my other tyres position before the front wheel alightment service is performed. How much does a garage charge (on average) to exchange tyres position? -

Has any one heard of this device. Extract from advert: "This unit allows you to save up to 20% of fuel costs, by aligning the particles of the fuel, thus improving oxygen flow making combustion easier and more efficent. The unit comes with full instructions and is easy installed as it is secured by 2 tie clips to the fuel pipe." -
Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 95 2.0 Steering pulses from side to side at low sp 18 Sep 2008 (Forum)
At slow speed and more or less stopped steering wheel pulses from side to side. Wheel alignment etc seems OK. Perhaps this is a power steering problem? Any ideas or experience with this problem. Car is a 95 XSI with 170000km. Otherwise runs fine. -
Renault Scenic (2003 - 2009) - 06 2.0T Camber Angle 6 May 2008 (Forum)
My scenic is causing me more problems, YET AGAIN!!! My N/S tyre is scrubbing on the outside edge, i'm guessing that there is a suspension mis-alignment, probably caused by me hitting a badger the other week. I was just wondering, is the camber angle adjustable on the scenic? or will it be new suspension bits?? cheers -
Attempted break-in 30 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Noticed the car was a bit noisy last week , like the door wasn't shut properly. On closer inspection, I found the front passenger door way out of alignment and a number of marks in the paint where someone had obviously tried to lever open the door at the top . Is this a tried and tested way to break in to a vehicle ? - you'd certainly need a lot of force to gain entry - personally I'd break a side window for quick access... -
Corolla uneven rear tyre wear 28 Sep 2006 (Forum)
It is not and the tyre on the drivers rear side wears normally. This means a rear passengers side tyre lasts about 10k miles. However I have has the alignment checked and they can find nothing wrong. Any ideas would be welcome what to look for next. -
mend the roads! 11 Apr 2006 (Forum)
Now that the new tax year has started, i hope that my local District Council will find it within themselves to authorise PROPER repair to 12 miles of A417 east of Cirencester. The surface and general condition of the carriageway is deplorable. Having had to re-align my suspension again i'm not best pleased. I wonder what the money (that was earmarked for repairs), has been spent on over the years? Sorry to rant on. -
MOT Failure Question 29 Jan 2004 (Forum)
Hi BR's, I have a Mondeo, 1994 L, that has failed the MOT on headlight alignment due to the tester not being able to "get a pattern" from the headlight. I have never heard this before, I was told that this is caused by the headlight turning yellow inside, or condensation, or something wrong with the bulb. Can any of you more mechanically minded tell me if I am being fleeced or is this pukka? -
headlights (again!) 20 Jan 2002 (Forum)
After all your help last week I have upgraded bulbs from standad to the Philips ones which give a "whiter" light and I can now see the road. I also had my dealer align the lights properly (free of charge). BUT the right light shines to the left and the left light shines to the right. Being totally ignorant about these things, is this normal or should they only cross at a considerable distance? -

Honda Civic - Squeaky Clutch 28 Aug 2011 (Forum)
Not a new problem, according to masses of chatter on websites, but has anyone managed to get Honda to accept the full cost of fitting a new clutch master cylinder to cure this problem? Honda have greased the pedal , re-aligned the cylinder etc, but nothing hasn't worked. My grouse is that Honda have knowingly continued to fit a defective part which makes them liable under the Sale of Goods Act for 6 years from date of manufacture. -
FIAT Bravo and Brava - Removing Track Rod Ends From 1997 Fiat Bravo 18 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I just want to know if this is possible without the aid of using heat. In the past heat had to be used when adjusting my wheel alignment in some previous cars. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. -

On two different motorway service areas we noticed that the French Police were pulling UK reg cars over and putting one of those headlight alignment machines onto the lights. Be warned ... {Amendment to subject line}
