  • Toyota Avensis - 2.0 vvti dome/central locking 7.5 amp fuse 20 May 2017 (Forum)
Anyway, as in the title, the 7.5 amp fuse which controls the central locking, dome light and radio/computer keeps blowing...I brought a box of 30 fuses for the process of elimination.  Everything is fine until I drive the car. Basically, I noticed that the fuse blows when I turn sharp right.

  • Ford C-MAX (2003 - 2010) - 04 1.8 Oil Warning Light 8 Nov 2015 (Forum)
I have noticed no performance/sound changes only thing I notice is the car feels like it vibrates more, but that may just be me being paranoid driving with no radio or heaters on to see if I can hear anything so it could be normal. I have no idea what this could be, isit likely to be an electrical problem or is it more of the engine is going to go pop variety??
  • Citroen Berlingo 1.9D 54 plate - 'Unsolvable' over-heating problem! 27 Dec 2014 (Forum)
I promise this one will tax your grey matter more than radio code questions and bumping down kerb and pothole worries...;-) I did get some suggestions in another thread but will keep the two seperate as that was a braking problem that is now solved. The problem is that the temperature quickly rises on the motor way at or over 70mph.
  • ford focus 1.8 tdci - injector/fuel pressure problems? 3 Mar 2014 (Forum)
hi all i recently purchaced a 2003 ford focus zetec 1.8 tdci from guy from ebay which stated in perfect working order. 46 miles after buying the glow plug light came on whilst on the motorway causing car to go into limp mode. a quick switch off then restart cured this for a few more miles where it kept happening. at one point it completely lost all power and shut everything down apart from the radio!  i took it to my local diesel specialists, who came highly reccommended who done a full diagnostic and leakage test. the fault came back to injector no 1 exess leakage and they advised replacing no 1 injector and also replacing the fuel filter. this i did at a cost of £220 for injector supply and fit and the fuel filter and the diagnostic was £65.
  • Ford Focus - Car battery charging 28 Apr 2013 (Forum)
This might explain my dead battery, aside from my poor treatment of it... but I always leave the air vents off, car locked and radio unplugged when I close up. So where could the current be going, and can someone confirm that the flashy led combination I'm seeing is indicative of current drain? Cheers!
  • Seat Leon 1.4l 16v 2003 - Seat Leon engine start failure in cold weather 13 Dec 2012 (Forum)
Air Bag Click to see image of dashboard 01 Click to see image of dashboard 02 Non of them flash, they just appear after i insert the key in, and wait a few seconds. The radio works, so I assume it cant be the alternator/accumulator, but as I am quite in experienced in motoring problems, I might be wrong. Once it went a bit warmer (+2 c) it still will not start, and compared to the day before, seems to have even less power.
  • Ford Focus 51 plate 1600 auto 130,000 miles - Focus electrical problems is it terminal ? 22 Jan 2012 (Forum)
It behaves normally for ages then suddenly you get in and turn the key and nothing, no ignition lights no radio, not even the digital clock. when you turn the key back to the off position the central locking starts going nuts !, clicking on/off in rapid succession. This can happen after a period of non use or after a trip to the shops.
  • Vauxhall Corsa - 2005 Automatic - short review 8 Sep 2011 (Forum)
BTW I had no grpes with the Corolla/Auris gear change   Plus points - resonably nippy, nimble, good visibility, very easy to park, simple to use and good radio sound.   Another negative or two - headlight beam strength isn't wonderful, interior is full of hard plastics.   It won't go back until Thursday so have time to add to the review
  • Hyundai ix35 - Hyundai ix35 Problems 7 Jul 2010 (Forum)
Yesterday I was called and was told I could pick it up today, great!  After a 15 minute drive with the radio playing, all of a sudden it turned itself off, as I was on the A40 and starving I carried on driving as I thought I would see to it when I got home.  Big mistake.  I called the dealer and he said that he couldn't figure out why I had this problem, I also noticed that when I called a mobile number through the Bluetooth that the person on the other side could hear me but I couldn't hear them through the speaker.

  • Honda FR-V 3+3 MPV - Automatic Wipers - sensitivity adjustment? 6 Apr 2010 (Forum)
Many thanks, "Archie" ps - the other niggle, in case anyone is wondering, is that the traffic announcements on the radio very rarely kick in, whereas in other cars, at the same time of day (on the M25 in the rushhour) the announcements never stop. Should Honda also be able to fix this?
  • Crashes due to icy conditions - whose fault? 13 Mar 2009 (Forum)
Driving home, I've just listened to a succession of listeners calling in to local radio and lambasting the council for not doing enough gritting. A spokesperson for one of the motoring organisations was interviewed, and read from a list of insurance claims - slid into ditch, lost control, skidded on ice, etc. and roundly condemned the highways department for not making the roads safe.
  • A new car for my Mother 13 Mar 2009 (Forum)
it must have a sunroof? and I see parking sensors and comfort extras as essential. A good working DAB radio for BBC R7 plays whilst driving from Southend to Oxford the long way on local roads would be welcome. Any other suggestions or thoughts? Thanks, Simon

As far as build quality goes, well, fit and finish inside is as good as the goona (RIP), there is a rattle from the back I will get fixed. Why does a car of this vintage not have steering wheel radio controls? Nicole said I look like Postman Pat (its red) and its true its no looker. Despite that, its a contender. Its a good deal lease wise, its pre jan 06 registered so the 3% BIK E4 discount applies. -- RF - Da DAA. < changes in phone box > Its TOURVAN man
  • Police press release wrong at law 6 Sep 2005 (Forum)
Essex Police yesterday started running a campaign to enforce the wearing of seatbelts, having run a similar campaign back in March and catching 3,500 people in the month. To launch the campaign they have gone very high profile with interviews on local radio and press releases in all the local papers and on their website. Unfortunately they appear to have put out a release which is patently incorrect in its interpretation of the law relating to the responsibility of the driver in ensuring passengers are belted up.
  • One for the Traffic Police 23 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Reason I am asking is that in Scotland they still have the conventional access / exit route? 2. Whilst in France I occasionally listened to Radio 2 for news etc and was amazed on the road reports the amount of motorways etc that are closed for hours after an RTA. In France, the police will very quickly clear the scene of an RTA without all the investigations we do here.
  • Alternator Problems?? 26 Jun 2002 (Forum)
Symptom as below: Start engine, battery charge light on dash is dim, rev engine, light get brighter. 1. check Voltage over battery with engine off = 12v 2. check voltage over battery with engine on = 12v 3. check voltage over battery with engine running, plus lights, blower, rear sreen, radio etc running = 10v 4. check voltage across alternator feed to battery, and dash light feed = 5v I changed the regulator/brush unit over from the old alternator, and still no luck. The Skoda Spares place I got the kit from also confirmed it was charging ok before it was shipped.
