• C Max Tdci vs Scenic dci 25 Nov 2003 (Forum)
  As I have mentioned previously, I have a "51" reg Scenic dci which I am very disappointed with the engine. I know Renault Family sing the praise of its successor in the Laguna with the 120bhp and 6 speed box. Reading on Ford's website about the C max with their diesel engine and it looks good. Anyone have experience of both of these?

  My neighbour has overheated his Renault Espace 2.1TD and has been advised by his garage that it requires a new engine. How likely are you to trash this engine by overheating it? He's looked around to try and obtain a replacement/exchange engine but they seem to be in extremely short supply.

  Just been driving a Renault VelSatis, the hand brake puts its self on when you turn off the engine and releales when you start to move off, if you want to put it on for a hill start etc. you pull a switch to the right of the steering column, then pull off and it self releases, I can't help asking my self, "WHY"?

  Hi, We are emigrating to Canada soon and as such will need a new car in Canada. We really like our present car (a Renault Scenic 1.6) and were wondering if anyone had any experience of cars in Canada. Ideally we would like an equivalent car. I guess the engine will be bigger but apart from that we really don't need a car bigger than the Scenic.

  I am the new owner of an N reg, 80000 mile specimen and would like to know if anybody has any experience of this model. Compared to my old K reg Renault 25 auto, it is a \'rocket\' and I am very pleased with it. However, it seems to be a very reluctant starter. The handbook says that the accelerator should not be touched during starting but mine will not start unless the accelerator is used.

  i think everyone should know how cheap cars are up north, in the paper you can buy a 1989 renault 5, with FSH, 54000 miles, tax and test, all for £200. what about the 1986 bmw 525i, that went at the local auction, FSH, 85000 miles, tax and test, it went for only £80. a 55000 mile pug 205, from 1987, with FSH, went for £70.

  Is this normal or should I be looking elsewhere? Exactly the same occured with my previous Diesel car when City Diesel became available. Renault Laguna 2.0 16v Estate for what it's worth.

  It's virtually impossible to solder onto the glass and I am despairing at getting decent radio reception. My Renault dealer wasn't interested and seemed to think I was the only person with this problem. Any suggestions?

  The one genuine success so far has come from gradually replacing our fleet of pool cars with used Renault Zoe’s. These have to date been absolutely hassle free. Aside from one fan motor and the usual suspension components expected at the age and mileage, the Zoe’s are proving to be very robust and popular among the drivers.

    I am “lucky” to have owned 5 different cars in my life so far:-   1st  car was Renault Clio (R Reg), and I had a problem free motoring during 5 years of ownership. (Lucky ?)   2nd car was Renault Megane Estate (04 Reg), and it was poorly built Renault c**p.
• Renault Laguna II - Climate Control 10 Jun 2013 (Forum)
  With the climate control unit on Auto and temperature set to 18 degrees on both sides; on a warm sunny day I had noticed the A/C light on but the inside of the car was not cooling down like it use to. The car went into my local Renault dealership last Summer for re-gassing and servicing of the A/C system. The next day which was a warm day again, I started the car and waited. The control unit was cooling for A/C again so I waited for the usual clunk of the compressor kicking in which it did and the blower fan started to increse speed to cool the inside of the car down.
• Renault Clio II - Intermittenly refusing to start and cutting out 16 Aug 2011 (Forum)
  Its now picking and choosing when its going to fire, if at all and even more worryingly decides to cut out (as if its stalled) whilst driving. I must admit i know nothing about cars apart from never to buy a clio or renault of any sort ever again. As i mentioned, my garage is fab but i get the impression that even they're a bit baffled, especially as when they just came to look at it it worked fine. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

  You can sit with it on the drive and rev the engine as hard as you like and apart from the agricultural noises these renault diesels make - no rattle at all. yet set off up the road, or uphill and accelerate and it makes a terrible rattling sound. It seems to be coming from the right hand side of the engine, disapears after you reach a reasonable speed (35 - 40mph) can't be heard when you get it moving in 3r, 4th or 5th gear, or when the engine is not labouring , accelerating or under load.

  HJ, Re "Ins and Outs" from MH, Lichfield, I recall recently, Renault offering a no cost switch to smaller wheels on the Kadjar model. Usually on the drivers side door jamb of most cars, there is a sticker showing the range of wheel sizes homologated to each model, so surely it would be worthwhile for OEM's to offer different wheel sizes, either as NCO's, or at an in lieu of price, to cater for the growing numbers of buyers who don't want to lose their fillings at the first twig they drive over?.

  You have to take the headlight off the V70 to get at the bulb. Why do they make it so difficult?  Apparently some Renaults need a major effort.

    Audi - A4 - only saloon BMW - none (but they have a 3 series tourer) Nissan - no Mercedes - never Renault Laguna - no Mazda 6 - no VW - Passat - only saloon - never made hatchbacks Toyota Avensis - only saloon Honda - none

  Budget is 5-7K. Further under 7 I keep the more I have for my estate car budget :) Was thinking Mazda 5 and no Renaults, won't be bitten by that electrical gremlin again. Another other cars ye all can think of? Cheers

  Hi All. I am in the process of sorting out a bent valve on a 2009 Nissan Qashqai with a renault 1.5dci engine fitted.   I can not find the head bolt torque setting or sequence anywhere. Does anyone here have the correct data please? A link to a manual woould be great also.

  Someone said buy a Seat Ibiza but we can't find any where we live. He is well over six feet tall so the smaller cars are no use. He learned to drive in a Renault Magane. Any suggestions please? Thanks

  The old Renault sailed through its MOT today. Clean pass, one minor advisory. So how dirty is a 16 year old 2 valver running on Asda smart price? Fast idle: HC: 0 (yes, zero) ppm, Max:200ppm CO: 0.1% max 0.3% natural idle: CO: 0.31%, Max:0.5% So, not very 'dirty' at all.
