98 Laguna 1.6 Second starter motor failure in less than 6 months, unless there\'s another cause for a \'click\' when turning the ignition. Do you normally get a warranty on exhange units? I sourced a Hella one from GSF and got the local garage to fit it, but can\'t find a mention of any warranty on the receipt , catalog of web site.

  • VAG Reliability 21 Jul 2003 (Forum)
After reading other recent threads on their after sales service as well, it would appear that VAG need to address these concerns PDQ, before their reputation sinks to Fiat`s level. !!!!
  • parking sensors 22 Jun 2003 (Forum)
G'Day appreciate advice, pse: want to fit parking sensor(s) to rear of Lexus 200 SE - Lexus dealer quotes £371 to supply/fit "general" (not Lexus) kit, which involves removing bumper to instal rather than drilling. Can I purchase and fit same without too much technical knowhow - if so, from where, pse?
  • Opinion on Fiat Coupe 6 May 2003 (Forum)
But that Fiat badge on the front often conjures up thoughts of unreliability and questionable build quality? What are the views of this car? Too high running costs to justify it?s purchase? Is the chassis really that good? Are the non-turbo 16v and 20v worth considering?

  • Exhange Rates £/Euro 7 Mar 2003 (Forum)
As I know to my cost, (Living in Spain & with U.K. originating pensions paid in Euros) the current exchange rate is dreadful for buying euros with £s. All you folks intending to go the personal import route should keep an eye on F.Ex rates! There is a free exchange rate daily update, via e-mail, available from AA http://www.xe.com/cus/.
  • Timing chain service interval 29 Nov 2002 (Forum)
I asked Nissan about the interval for chain renewal on my 96/N Maxima QX 3.0 V6 and they said it is not a service item. Is that true? I understand that even Mercedes S-class have service interval for chains and, from memory, the interval was 250k. Just worry that my chain may stretch or snap. There was nothing mentioned in the Car-by-Car Breakdown. Thanks.
  • Update - chattering relay in 205 8 Apr 2002 (Forum)
Initially identified with 3000 rpm, then with gusty wind or occasionally a water-splash. Located a dodgy wire connection (an add-on with the alarm) which caused the chatter, behind the n/s headlamp. Luckily not somewhere in the wiring loom!
  • Diesel injector pump info. 21 Mar 2002 (Forum)
Has anyone found worthwhile info on the web to assist in stripping down diesel injector pumps? I would normally fit an exchange unit if needed on a modern car but have a spare pump (u/s due to diesel leaks) for the old Land Rover and would like to have a fiddle. The search engines don't seem to turn up much. David
  • Peugeot 309 boot leak 10 Feb 2001 (Forum)
My Pug 309 has a leak in the boot which seem common to all 309's and the bad thing about it is that you get a large build up of water under the rear seats which in time will badly stain or ruin them all together and effects its re-sale value. Does anybody know how I can stop this leak ?
