Ssangyong developments 13 Aug 2018 (Forum)
Informed they are working on a new 1.5 petrol turbo that should make its way into most of the UK line up by the end of 2019. A new 1.2 turbo petrol is also under going testing and will be used from 2019 in the new facelift Tivoli As for the new Musso, that’s a hell of a lot of car and warranty for the money -

Car supermarket pricing 23 Jun 2001 (Forum)
Is there ANY room for manoevre on/in these prices. Looking to buy used @ £15,000 but wonder if I can squeeze a few hundred of their list. Note that OTE earnings for sales people at trade centre are £35,000 but do not want to contribute too much to this as I will be self selecting my car and I do not see where the SALES value is otrher than trying to get you to buy a warranty. -
BMW 1 Series Convertible - dealer warranty 26 Mar 2016 (Forum)
i bought a car using a finance company which was found through ZUTO (the broker). when buying the car from the dealer it come with a 6 months warranty which covered wear and tear. after 1 month the car started to develop a grinding noise so i asked two independant mechanics, one of which was a bmw specialist, to listen and have a test drive. they both said that its sounds like the first motion shaft bearing and is a common fault for my model. -
2nd hand car and misfuel diesel 18 Sep 2020 (Forum)
Then I am reading people bought a used car with extended warranty but this is not honoured as checks find traces of petrol in a diesel car. I have read supermarket takns can be contaminated. What is true please rather than hearsay, etc. -
any - used car problems 28 Nov 2010 (Forum)
On the web forum I have found lots of good information on Dual mass flywheels, Particulate filters and driving style with both of these things on the car. What I never was asked at the dealer was whar would the car be used for! I would say, first port of call if you have a car that is still under warranty, ask the dealer, as there may be a recall for your car and secondly, if you have dealer servicing carried out you will have your warranty, and if the car is serviced annually you will have some cover up until the 4th service is due, because the dealer will recover some cost from the manufacturer if it is aknown fault, and also will want to keep your custom. -
Audi A3 Sportback (2004 - ) - Young A3 Sportback 2.0 tdi and Dual Mass Flywheel 7 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Treated myself to this new car in 2005. Still a couple of months warranty. 2.0 tdi manual box 12700 miles, no naughty habits of slipping or riding the clutch. Nasty growls and grumbles in the last 2 weeks becoming worse. Used Audi Rescue for an opinion and the diagnosis - "you need a replacement dual mass flywheel!" -
Honda CR-V - Poor Main Dealers 26 Aug 2010 (Forum)
In this case, it is not that the fault is assumed to have existed at the time we bought the car, we know it was because they said so!! I will now stick to used car garages. The Honda had not been properly cleaned and the service before delivery skimped on a number of points. I really wonder if main dealers now only want to sell new cars. -

Kia Optima - Kia Approved Used, certificate?? 3 Aug 2018 (Forum)
Hi all Purchased a Kia Optima 16 plate January this year. Dad car! Car was advertised as being approved used, and so with the full warranty. It was registered in August 16 and didn't hit thr 18 month cut off for approved used until a date in February. Tesla Model 3 - Fault within 6 months of purchase 27 Dec 2024 (Forum)
This is a new response on Ask HJ https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/askhj/answer/218903/how-do-i-complain-about-a-used-car-warranty- If the fault is after 5 months, why is the advice not go back to the dealer who sold the car and get them to repair it under the CRA? -
Mitsubishi Outlander II - Rear disc corrosion on 2 year old car 22 Mar 2010 (Forum)
this is fine except they won't replace them as a warranty issue (3 year warranty). i bought the car a year old from the main dealer in bristol (part of the colt car company Uk) and feel that after 2 years this should really be covered as the car has not been anywhere that should have caused excessive corrosion. -
Honda Jazz - Ta very much! 22 Jun 2011 (Forum)
Here are the details for any who are interested: 2006 (06) Honda Jazz 1.4 DSi, 38k on clock 1yr mot 6m tax full tank of fuel 1yr warranty 1 yr AA 2yr Gear box warranty (as onTSB mentioned by GreaseMonkey) 2yr Rear roof/boot seal warranty (again I used info from here to secure this) Full service before collection Cost: £5,500 Whilst I think the styling of this car is a bit OAP for my tastes it certainly fit the bit for the practicality we need with a small child and should hopefully cope with the mileage demands we place upon it. -

Ford Fiesta / Hyundai - Buying used: Is 20k less miles worth £1k more? 22 Jan 2020 (Forum)
Hi - we suddenly lost our car and find ourselves in a pickle trying to find a new one. Usage is 40 miles a day, urban fairly windy roads 4 times per week. Family of 4 so we need 5 doors and will be adding child seats, but this car is mainly used by 1 person to and from work. -
Astra Mk5 1.6 Twinport - Refund for Repairs to Used Car 22 Nov 2012 (Forum)
Hi, I was wondering if I could get some advice on how to go about getting a refund for repairs to a car that I bought 8 weeks ago. From the day I bought the car I have had issues with the car having no heating and losing coolant. I have been in contact with the dealer who sold me the car and they arranged for the thermostat to be replace with a local garage that they use, on the drive home from the garage the engine management light came on and has remained on ever since. -
2018 - Dacia duster parts 12 Feb 2024 (Forum)
At no point did they give us a timescale nor update us. In that time we were provided a hire car to use. However it was much smaller than a duster and we weren't allowed dogs in there either. Some big problems we had. For instance we went on holiday a couple of times and had to get someone else to bring 1 of our suitcases. -
Scudo Van Comfort 1.6 Multijet - Warranty - major fault - Sale of Goods Act 1979 24 Feb 2013 (Forum)
The bill was in the end just under £2500 to get the car up and running again. DAF told me that they never had such a fault, certainly not for a car of under 4 years of age and at 17000 miles (I drive the car normally twice a week for about 70 miles with little stop-and-go and only light private domestic use). -
Vauxhall Signum (2003 - ) - 2004 v6 3.0CDTi loss of power and smoking 23 Feb 2008 (Forum)
i have a 54 signum v6 3.0cdti and since september last year the car loses power and smokes terribly, it has been back to vauxhall 4 times and they do not know what is wrong with it (there is no warning lights ) at first it went back under warranty after i had to remove the wrong fuel filter (purflux filter) and fit a genuine vauxhall filter, then they tried to repair it no good ..... went back in and they fit a new fuel filter housing unit under warranty ..... no good same problem ... then they said the original filter could have caused some damage and vauxhall will now not support any future work, the car is now out of warranty, i have took the car to several garages and no one knows what the problem is .... any body suffered the same problem and cured it ??????
