Vauxhall Astra - Repair costs not long after buy 23 Apr 2015 (Forum)
While they can agree that the clutch can be classed as wear and tear the gearbox just simply failed. Now I am looking at around £1700 repair bill and the response of dealership and finance company is that they are not liable for any cost due to wear and tear. Just wondering if I have any case here at all? -
Insurance and car ownership 24 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Now the problem is that I have to be the keeper on the V5 as terms of the finance. yet her insurance company will only insure her (she has 5 years ncb) if she is on the V5. So these are mutually exclusive conditions. This cant be a unique situation so I would like to have some view on how we can proceed legally. -

Pug 307 - Warranty 19 Oct 2005 (Forum)
Also, at what level could you reasonably say to the dealer that you are not happy with the car and cancel the finance agreement - if at all? The guy told her it was a 1.6 when she bought it. It turned out it was a 1.4. Personally I'd say that was gounds in itself. -

The vehicle I am interested in has no V5. The current owner says he bought it at auction as it was being sold by a finance company (a re-po). It has been HPI'd and has come up clean. Is it straightforward to get a V5 or should I be aware of other problems? Advice please. -

Rant: car dealer doesn't know how to sell cars 19 Feb 2008 (Forum)
Can anyone tell me why a salesman AND the dealer manager, in a major dealership in a large town, haven't a clue how to process contract hire forms? And what's more, never thought to ring the finance company to ask? As a result I've got an extra £150 worth of accessories, so I shouldn't grumble. But I like grumbling :-) Some editing to avoid identifying the finance company, even in the disguised way the poster managed -
Car finance agreement, advice please? 1 Feb 2006 (Forum)
He has now been advised by a friend that under the Consumer Credit Act, as he has paid more than 50% of the new value of the car in installments, he can tell them he doesnt want the car any more and give it back to them and not pay the £10250. So with this third option, are there any other implications (legal) other than making the finance company a bit upset?! If he does this, does he have to notify them before the lease runs out, ie. within the next 2 weeks? Any advice much appreciated, Rich. -
