  • Volvo C70 - Advice RE used car dealer 14 Oct 2012 (Forum)
I collected it on the friday afternoon and drove it home from Birmingham to Coventry, then I took my partner out for a quick drive, I had covered a total of 41.8 miles and had the car for 3 hours before the cam belt snapped. i contacted the dealer who cam straight away to collect it and promised to get it repaired. he has now had the vehicle for three weeks and has apparently had to remove the head and replace all of the valves, valve seats and seals etc and has now said that as there warrenty does not cover cam belts i will have to pay £195 towards the cost of the repair and a further cost for new oil filter and oil.I would welcome advice on what to do now, i will have to pay for now as i need my car as i have been unemployed for a few months and start a new job on monday. Thanks Madguy

Hi guys Wondered if you can help regarding a problematic vehicle. I recently sold an 8 year old car in august that had only covered 36k miles with a full service record. I sell all of my cars with what I consider to be a decent quality warranty through a third party company and made sure this vehicle was no exception.
  • Mazda CX-7 - Let down by Mazda customer service. 19 Jan 2016 (Forum)
I wrote letter to Mazda customer service in UK about problem I got as well as RECAL for those engines with same problems. Mazda refused to cover the cost of 700 pounds and reason for that is the services weren’t done on time! It shouldn’t matter as this is ENGINE FAULT and mazda should cover it! Decided to go ahead  and After paying 700 pounds I went back to Mazda Tamworth and hit them with bill and complain that they didn’t check properly my car.

  • Auctionview: what does 'track' mean? 7 Jun 2005 (Forum)
I've subscribed to auctionview and have found I have the option of 'tracking' certain cars that go up for sale. What does this option actually do? I was hoping it could then tell me the price that the car sold for after the auction is over but can't seem to find this information? Is there any other way of finding this out except for hoping HJ's auction reports cover the car I want?

I was checking over the car today, it's a Micra 1L, W Reg, and underneath the car what I think is the sump is half covered in greasy oil. There are no drips and it is not losing any oil, I get six monthly oil changes and have never had to top it up.
  • VW Polo - Advice Needed For The Best Possible Outcome 6 Apr 2024 (Forum)
After citing Consumer Protection that the onus is on him to prove it didn't already have a fault or wear already in the engine things got a little heated and we left with him stating 'It's the end of the week, lets leave it there, nothing will happen till next week now' The following day, which was a Saturday, we got a call at 5pm stating 'Everyone had gone home so I've taken the engine cover off (this was the first time the cover had been off which is crucial as you will see) and found the problem' 'It's the oil sensor, he has hit something in the road and the car lost all its oil' I know nothing about cars but I am not stupid.
