Which car offers ease of access and a comfortable ride?

My wife and I are both in our 70s and would appreciate your advice on the choice of our last car. Our budget is £4000, annual mileage about 6000. We have been considering the Kangoo, Berlingo, Wagon R or anything in that line. Ease of access and a comfortable ride come high on our list of priorities. Being able to fit a dog cage in the back is also important.

For £4000, it’s worth a look at a Mitsubishi Colt, as well as the more obvious Honda Jazz, Nissan Note and Renault Modus. All covered in www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar
