  • Scratch removal 12 May 2009 (Forum)
I have a large scratch (not that bad) on my Corsa's door and it is annoying me as the rest of the car is in pretty much new condition. I have t-cutted it and it looks a little better but thinking I need to get this done professionaly. Are they any cheap places that do this sort of work? Halfords said it would be around £100 but don't want to pay that much to remove a scratch on 81k nearly 10 year old supermini.

  • Panic! Snow on the way! 23 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Forecast for Saturday here in the East says 'heavy snow showers' - how many of us will be good citizens and do as we're told by putting a shovel, blanket, thermos of hot coffee etc in the car and making a journey "only if it's absolutely necessary"??? And what do little old ladies mean when they say it's "too cold for snow?" Does this also apply in Siberia where it is very cold and there's lots of snow?

  • Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 2006 - Faulty stereo speaker - warranty covered? 31 Dec 2007 (Forum)
I recently bought a 9 month old Focus (a 56-reg) from a non-Ford dealership and have now discovered that one of the rear speakers is faulty. As there was no warranty booklet provided with the car I am unsure if this sort of thing would be covered by the manufacturer's warranty - can anyone help?

  • Winter running 26 Oct 2007 (Forum)
Since the dip in temperature round these parts, the only way I can get my motorbike to register anywhere near normal on the water temperature gauge is to use the old trick of blocking off half the radiator with a piece of cardboard. That got me wondering if owners of modern cars with big power outputs and bigger air intakes have to do similar in winter to get any heat into the engine ?

  • Mondeo 2litre Head Gasket 4 May 2007 (Forum)
Its a very, very long story but the upshot of it all is that I have a Mondeo 2 litre petrol with a knackered head gasket. I have changed a couple of head gaskets on my old crossflow kit car but how much more complex is the Mondeo (its a 1997) I appreciate it is DOHC and the timing will need setting up before dismantling but is this a nightmare job or a not too bad one?

  • Audi quattro 130bhp or Mk4 golf tdi 150? 16 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Audi A3 is the old shape- 52 plate quattro and all the toys or the 53 plate mk4 tdi 150bhp ( a spot on one this time!) Priced at more or less the same price- both low mileage (35k). Never bought low mileage as I never quite trust them as much as a 60000miles car thats lived on the motorway.
