  The taxi back however was 10 time more expensive and we had no time to argue as we had to rush to get back on the boat. Apparently this is a common scam over there and if this happens we were told afterwards you should refuse to pay and demand the immediate presence of the loal constabulary.

  Just been reading NW's thread and it made me wonder - as and when garages (main dealers or indies) realise that a customer is savvy and not easily duped or scammed, do they mark that job sheet somehow to prevent the telephone call for unnecessary work? Conversely, do they mark the cards of the mugs that have been conned previously? Or am I just being a bit cynical?

  They are listed at companies house. Their web address is http://intermediateservices.co.uk/index.html I know there are scams out there whereby the buyer gives the intermediary money for the car then the car never turns up!! I have no intention of handing over any money without having the car and keys in my hand. I was thinking of getting the RAC to do a full inspection on the basis that if the car doesn't actually exist (the photos could have been any random car) then Ace Uk holdco ltd will fob off the RAC so the appointment is never kept.

    I paid for a voucher last year and have booked onto several of there dates this year for them all to be cancelled. Im very doubtful this is a legitimate company and real feel i have been involved in a scam and lost out on hundreds of pounds as a result.   Anyone with any information aboput this company please let me know.   I have just googled the tel number and there is loads of information on it being a holiday scam & the company asking for credit card details to the tune of 8-900 !!!! to secure your win ! Why is a reputable site promoting that in one of its boxes ? It says I'm a lucky winner in London of a 3000 prize.

  Hi All, I've got a drive of a Ferrari at MIRA soon (Birthday present from the wife) and the accompanying letter says that for security reasons no photographs are allowed and all phones, camera's etc must be left in the car. A colleague at work reckons that's a bit of a scam so they can sell their own photo's! To be honest I can understand there being an issue with photographs at MIRA but has anyone got any experience of this and advice please? Cheers. FTF
