  It will be driven around a course on the Events Arena in two sessions during the day, at 11.30am and 2.30pm.   Registration AYX 94 was offered originally by London based dealer Charles Follett – who specialised in the more desirable two-door tourers, sports saloons and drophead coupés by Vanden Plas – and following ownership by Claire Luce, was subsequently purchased by the renowned rally driver and one-time winner of the Monte Carlo Rally (1953), Maurice Gatsonides. Gatsonides perhaps has greater notoriety as the creator of the Gatso speed camera and despite his ownership of this pre-war ‘bullet’, the description of this most desirable model is not intended as a trap. Introduced in 1932, the Speed 20 was the first post-vintage design from Alvis, with the second series of the car adopting the SB moniker, and its bristling performance – the top speed of 90mph now aided by a new all-synchromesh gearbox – was allied to a more sporting look to that of its predecessor, the SA, thanks in part to a longer, lower chassis and the addition of imposing Lucas P100 lamps, fitted as standard.

ITV’s Police, Camera, Action! Programme (7th July 2008) recently asked motorists from five different stereotypes to retake the current driving test, as judged by the former chief driving instructor for Great Britain. Shockingly, the white van driver, OAP, school run mum, boy racer and a sales rep all failed the test.

  Report: Peking to Paris, day seven 3 Jun 2013 (News)
  Car 80, the blue Ford Mustang convertible (below), had two tyres blow out at the same time, causing the car to swerve and get buried in a soft bank of dirt. A tow out from a camera-crew and a tyre change from the Sweeps Rob Dominy and Bob Harris soon had the car running again. The little blue Renault 4 stayed in Bulgan this morning, and could be there some time as the crew are now waiting for parts to fix the gearbox.
