Chevrolet Epica - Chevrolet Epica diesel 1 year on 12 Aug 2011 (Forum)
So, now had the epica 12 months, For those of you who may not have read my owners review in Honest Johns used reviews, the story is as follows.. Aug 2010, searching for a fairly economical to buy new-newish car, looked at brand new kia ceed, then saw hyundai i30 classics a lot cheaper and went to look at a car supermarket (Ron Skinners) where i had previously bought a chevrolet aveo for an old friend. saw the epica in stock, all ex-chevrolet cars in lovely condition and a very attractive price. went home and researched a bit, and found my car for £6745 at Pentagon, Sheffield, 7021 miles on clock when i bought car over the phone, bit disappointed at the time about the condition the car was delivered in, but faults fixed under warranty and dealer service in swansea (FRF) excellent. -

Should I keep or sell my A4 Avant? 1 Feb 2015 (Ask HJ)

Where have all the good cars gone? 23 Aug 2019 (Forum)
I’ve recently viewed countless Fiesta’s, Mazda 2’s, Suzuki Swift’s and VW Polo’s with almost all having some very poor paint repairs that’ll soon become very tatty. The trade has changed markedly since I was selling new and nearly new stock. Most cars came back in good order and repairs were almost always up to insurance approved standards. It’s time dealers were harder on people returning cars in shocking condition like this and this starts with buyers of used cars being more careful and refusing to buy them. -
Mini Cooper F56 (9/14 reg) - Brake pad replacement Mini Cooper F56 17 Jun 2017 (Forum)
In particular, if front pads for an R56 can be supplied AND fitted for a total cost of £115, why does it cost £102 +VAT just in labour charges to fit front pads on an F56 Before anyone goes down the "all Mini/BMW dealers charge top dollar...go to an independent and get the pads from Euro Parts etc. etc... yes I know that, but when the car is still under warranty, is covered by a 5 year/50,000 mile TLC pack (from new) and is in for its first (TLC covered) brake fluid change PLUS the latest "Quality enhancement " (aka recall) for the axial bearing shells on crankshaft...and the dealer does a vehicle healthcheck and calls at 4pm and says "front pads 99% worn, rear pads 80% worn..and I can replace all of them by 5pm ........what would you do.......you wouldn't spend half a day getting other quotes would you ?? -
Nissan Almera (2000 - 2006) - - time to replace, but with what? 2 Jan 2010 (Forum)
I have a list as long as my arm of requirements, mostly because the Almera came so well equipped it will be hard to give up a lot of what I already have; and I try to add at least one more piece of equipment to the list with each car I have. Ideally, it will be smaller than the Almera. There's just two of us and we cover approx 10-12k a year, a large majority of city driving (around many roundabouts), with the occasional (1-2 times per month) 250 mile 'round trip to Bristol and back from MK. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 2.0 TDCi - Fuel System and Brake Light Despair! 16 Nov 2007 (Forum)
Fords Customer Relations Department are useless and are just looking for a way to say that Ford's can do no more. Searched this Forum and found loads of similar stories - same thing - even accused of using dirty fuel as well. Help please - desparate - can't afford another car - still paying for this one! Really fed up with trying to fight my corner with this huge organisation - one Customer Relations person actually made my wife cry with her officious attitude. -
Subaru Forester - First 2 months and 2,000 miles of ownership 27 Aug 2020 (Forum)
The restart is slower than the Merc and you have to ensure the car has restarted before putting the car into gear. In the early days I was sometimes too quick to put the car into gear and the car refused to restart until it was in neutral. Like most of these systems it can be turned off. -

Suzuki Vitara - 13 months on 30 May 2025 (Forum)
It's a 1.6 auto SX5 (the 'posh' one...) allgrip on an 18 plate It was purchased from Tracks Exeter (Suzuki main dealer) with about 30,000 miles and full (not all Suzuki) service history. It was approved used, so still under warranty. I have had it serviced and MOTd at Howards in Weston Super Mare. No problems at all and no advisories on the MOT I've put another 9,000.miles on it and, apart from the odd noise, had no problems. -

Honda Accord Tourer (2003 - 2008) - Misfuelling - how to prove a negative? 13 Feb 2008 (Forum)
I also always use the same CC for payment, so I can corroborate that way. But, my question is, if they are starting to manouver to get out of repairing the car, how the hell do I prove that I haven?t put a small amount of petrol in there?? -
Focus 1.8 TDCI glow plug light flashing 29 Dec 2006 (Forum)
I have read reports of a TSB detailing problems of the nature i am having suggesting the fuel pump is to blame. I have since returned the car to the dealership and they called to say that the problem lies in the fuel rail and it will cost in excess of £600 to get fixed. I suggested that i have had an ongoing issue with the vehicle and not prepared to pay for the repair and it should be covered by warranty as the fuel problems i have had in the past have never been fixed. -
Nissan Almera Tino - Suggestions for Automatic replacement 18 Feb 2018 (Forum)
Not too concerned around engine size Needs to have at least a boot area, with back seats in use, the size of a Tino (410 litres according to the specs) - why they measure boot space in a liquid volume is beyond me - just seems to be the standard figure quoted. Really don't want one of these small capacity turbo cars that seems all the rage at present - normally aspirated 1.6L / 1.8L / 2.0L is fine for us. -

Alternatives to a Fiesta Econetic TDCi DPF ? 20 May 2010 (Forum)
I need a car. I don't have a car currently and though I know it has faults, the Ford Fiesta seems a decent motor in Econetic TDCi DPF specification. Sub 110 CO2 emissions means I can put it through a company and claim 100% in year one (still not sure I will do this though and might keep it private) and no car tax. -
Passat vs Audis vs 75 - discuss 23 Mar 2003 (Forum)
I'm having a little trouble coming to a decision on the next motor. I'm looking for a used car for under £10k with a fairly responsive diesel engine, to keep over 2-3 years. It has to be reasonably easy to sell on when the time comes (so perhaps just a little bit of kudos) and shouldn't depreciate like a computer.
