  • Maltese 27 May 2020 (Forum)
Been watching a detective series on TV about Sicily in the 80's called Maltese the Mafia detective. It's a car spotters's dream if you like old Alfas and Fiats etc. even a Renault 4, used to like them for some strange reason.

Thinking of one of these but not sure it look much different from the current one :-( I am sure the 'spy' shots last year showed a more glamorous body. Renault playing too safe IMO :-( http://tinyurl.com/362enz

  • Megane Scenic or Sport Tourer? 17 Apr 2004 (Forum)
With Renault now selling the Megane estate (sport tourer) in the UK, unlike the previous model, what are the pros and cons of buying one over the Scenic? What do you in BR-land think???
  • Clio with boot? 3 Oct 2002 (Forum)
Followed a German-registered car this evening through Petersfield, Hants., badged Renault 'Thalia' which appeared to be a late-model Clio with a boot - quite nice looking, actually. Anyone else seen one/have any info. on it? P.
  • VAG - Exhaust Manifold in Cylinder Head 29 Apr 2015 (Forum)
Do you know if VAG has started to adopt the "Manifold in Head" technology that other makers (GM, Renault) have used to good effect in attempting to eliminate DPF problems in their diesel engines?
  • SAAB ad 8 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Isn't the current SAAB ad a bit old fashioned? Renault were taking the same approach in the 1980s (or was it the 1970s? So many brain cells gone...) extolling the virtues of a turbo as giving the performance of a larger engine with the fuel consumption of a smaller engine.
  • What a rip off 13 Sep 2005 (Forum)
The cost of replacing a main-beam headlight bulb on a Renault Espace Privilege is £196.30 for the bulb and a further £22 for the fitting. This price to me seems totally unbelievable and I was wondering if anybody on the forum can surpass this appalling rip off ????
  • Good Customer Service 13 Jan 2004 (Forum)
Hi All, Who does the panel think is the best car company for customer service - when cars go wrong Is it the obvious 'quality' ones or not ? No votes from me for Renault x2l Sorry if this has been done to death already

  • Laguna timing belt change interval? 10 Sep 2002 (Forum)

  • Renault Grand Scenic - Replace or wait? 19 May 2022 (Forum)
I've got a 12 plate Renault grand scenic 1.6 dci, 85000 miles. Normally I wouldn't have kept a car so long, but I've owned it 7 years now. I was looking to replace last year but the prices rocketed and have been the same or worse since.
  • Van man 2 May 2020 (Forum)
Slow and noisy but tough and reliable. 93 L Toyota Liteace Mk II 2.0D - What a difference, a genuinely great wee van. 90 H Mitsubishi L200 2.5D - Tough as old boots, never went wrong but rear brakes locked up as soon as you looked at the pedal. 93 L Vauxhall Astra 1.7D - Great motorway pounder. 81 W Renault 4 GTL 1.1 - Brilliantly weird and surprisingly comfortable and very reliable but sadly it had holes in the floor by its 5th birthday so it had to go. 86 D Renault Extra 1.4 - Great wee van, kept it 14yrs and it suffered no major failures. 00 X Renault Kangoo 1.9 - Should’ve been great with simple old tech engine and well designed interior but it kept suffering electrical faults and went at 6yrs. 06 06 Renault Kangoo 1.5dci - Great wee engine, a vast improvement on the 1.9.
  • Renault Clio II (2001 - 2007) - Car goes on fire! 23 Feb 2009 (Forum)
My Renault Clio 1.5DCi Dymanigue went on fire on Thursday night in my driveway. The Fire Service came to put the fire out and told me they thought it was probably caused by an electrcal fault. I had work done by the local dealer two weeks ago costing £800.

Hi... I might be looking for a "hot" or "very warm" hatch, and apart from the Golf GTI, the Renault Megane would be a strong contender. So.... warm/hot diesel versions are listed as Tech Run dCi 130 6 speed Tech Run dCi 130 FAP Auto GT DCi 150 Renaultsport dCi 175 Renaultsport dCi 175 Lux petrol versions are listed as as GT 2.0 Turbo 165 Renaultsport 225 Cup Renaultsport 230 Renault F1 Team R26 Renaultsport 225 Lux So what are my priorities (help point me to the best version for me).
  • All - Older cars 27 Dec 2018 (Forum)
I've been idly taking notice of which cars last the pace, anything before 05 in good condition is of interest. There seem to be plenty of Volvos but I am pleasantly surprised by the number of Peugeot and Renaults running around. VWs are plentiful too.
  • French - Car on Fire at Longleat 22 Apr 2014 (Forum)
Does anyone know what make/model of car caught fire at Longleat? The issue was recently reported in the news. I'm guessing it was French, probably a Renault Espace. I know a few of those that have spontaneously combusted.
  • Fault marque patterns 12 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Looking at the technical section, seems the threads follow a pattern on reported vehicle faults ; Renault, Citroens , Vauxhall , Ford and VW feature in descending order . A kind of democratic JD Powers survey ?? Very few mentions of Honda, Toyota and Lexus in comparison
