  'Exhaust gas monitoring' warning light has started coming on. Car spluttering and struggling to start. Is it worth taking to Renault Dealer for diagnostic computer thing or can i take a gamble on it being the coils.

  I have a 95 Renault Laguna 2.2 diesel (140k miles) and a 99 A6 1.9 TDI (100k miles). What is the best oil to use for these? cheers, The Fying Dutchman.

  Continuity between oxygen sensor and ECU checked OK All earths in engine bay and on engine OK Earths and power to ECU OK ECU independently checked twice (both OK) New parts fitted:- Oxygen Sensor Inlet manifold gaskets New Fuel Pump Fuel Regulator Spark Plugs and leads Fuel replaced in case of contamination Conclusion:- Engine appears to be running far too lean I subsequntly gave the car to the local Renault garage and the cannot find anything at fault on their diagnostoc system and have checked the electricals etc and have also completely drawn a blank with their own car! The co-incidence of the jump start right at the beginning seems a strong one and i think this may be connected.......please help if you can and I will pass any advice back through to the Renault garage...!!

  Happy New Year everyone! Last month I bought a 2001 Renault Scenic RX4 Privilege 1.9dci from an expat in Spain. The car had around 120K miles on the clock and was advertised as having a brand new clutch and gearbox. The seller said he was moving back to the UK and this was the only reason for the sale.

  How about a link on the left here, to a list of cars that should be avoided? The Mondeo TDci and Renault Laguna can kick it off for starters! Might save people lots of cash, grief and hassle?

  I was suprised how many manufacturers have now stopped producing diesel cars including renault and i have worked it out that its going to cost me a lot more money to run  if i was to change cars, even if i bought another pre reg car,  Ok, My last free full service is coming up and renault have offered me a 3 year service contract for £450 which i dont think i will be taking and i will use a local garage thats cheaper.

  (I dont know what the lads at Renault do but they dont do it very quickly!) The slave comes off with two easily got bolts and simply disconnect the hydraulic line (i used a screwdriver). Once the slave is in hand push the push rod into the slave, if it moves then there is air in there.

  Hi i need some advice? I purchased a 05 plate Renault Modus on the 10/02/2016 i paid £1030 via my credit card from an independent car dealer. I did take it for a 20 min test drive and the car had some service history. The car had 93k on the clock,on day of purchase the car broke down on the way home(turned out it required a new battery,had it fitted and the cost was shared 50% each way) I also had the car serviced.
