I've just purchase 4 tyres for my Espace, and have always kept to Michelin, as they were on the car from new.
The way I purchased them, list price of £180 ish, was to try one of the following, blackcircle,Merittyre, mytyres, the last only supply(roughly£110 each) and you get your local gargage to fit them(£18/ tyre).
This I then presented to my local K.F(in my village 2 mins walk, so very convenient.)who fitted all 4 tyres, balanced and disposed for almost the same price, total was £567.
Personally on that milage Id go for a mid range, I did some price checks and they ranged from £23 for Goodridge - Michelin £71, then you add the fitting costs

Replaced the Michelin Energy tyres on my 01 Scenic with Firestone Fuelsavers - they feel as though the car has more grip, and steers better through twisty roads, with no noticeable loss of fuel economy.
New tyres for scenic - DP
I just put two Michelin Energys on the Scenic (205/60/16) for £165 fitted and balanced at Micheldever Tyres. £50 less than Kwik-Fit quoted!

The Energy is the original fitment, and seems to perform well. Some say they're noisy, but can't say I notice it. In any case, I wanted to keep all four the same and the two rears were far too good to bin.

Cheers

What do you value in a tyre?
What are important factors?

Price

Noise

Performance (dry)
Performance (wet)

Personally, I would avoid Michelins as they are very expensive and don't generally give significant advantages over other brands that cost a lot less.
