Nissan Note - Happy Blue!
Just been looking (for three seconds) at the Nissan ad above.

Surely the Note is a Renault Modus in disguise?

Stupid name whatever it is.

Nissan Note - AR-CoolC
Built on the same platform, but extended a bit. This weeks Auto Express has a full write up.
Nissan Note - Aprilia
Noticed a lot of these in Japan - very popular. Also had a look around one at Nissan HQ. It seems rather larger than the Modus. Overall I thought it a nice car and it will probably sell well. I gather they are going to call it the 'Tone' in UK...?

Oh, please not!

Today, the Nissan Tone hit back at its critics. The Tone acknowledged that before the accident, it had been repeatedly warned by all the other cars it had virtually no possibility of fitting through the gap.

Sources close to the garage confirm that the Tone was repeatedly warned by the other cars, who pleased with him not to ahead. Whilst accepting that yesterday's crash was the most serious of its career, the Tone came out fighting.

"Of course we knew that we probably wouldn't fit through the gap", said the Tone.

"But what those other vehicles ought to remember is that I looked into my heart, and my heart told me that the people would want me to drive through the gap. Sometimes it's better to crash doing the right thing than to return home safely doing the wrong thing"

The Tone has now been taken off the road for 28 days, pending repairs. Police expressed regret that it could not be immobilised for 90 days.

I think mss1tw that if that needs explaining, you have not been listening to the radio, watching TV or reading a newspaper in the last 24 hours.

BTW ...the hell is "mss1tw" meant to mean?

It seems that for the UK market, it is going to be replaced with the David -- which won't even be called a Nissan. Instead it will revive an old brand name, possibly Datsun.

Desite the different label, the David will share the same basic design as the Tone, with similar qualities inclusing the cheesy grin and some vague platitudes spun carefully in all directions. Handling charcateristics are expected to be very similar, with a perception of great progress masking relatively low performance.

Insiders refuse to confirm whether the Datsun David will have a damaged air intake, or whether its ventilation system has been reinforced to cope with the needs of the Colombian market. They stress instead that this a NEW model ...
