  Needs to have 4/5 doors, I have two children 5 and 2, so needs to be practical as well, and not too small. I have been looking at a Nissan Note and a Seat Ibiza. Would they be good used cars? Ideally I'd like something Golf sized but I'm not a big fan of Ford Focuses. I dont want to get something really old either, reliability is quite improtant.

  For example.  A Nissan Qashqai is designed and built in Sunderland, but has certain components made in Japan / France.  A Saab may be manufactured in Sweden but the Company will have a salesforce in the UK which might make up say 10% of the total cost of the car.

  Equally watching them skid around race tracks in cars that I unlikely to ever see unless I go to a car show is getting stale. How about testing some cars like the Nissan 370, or the Mercedes SLK and others. Hiding the ID of the stig used to be funny but now who cares.

  And that the 32's just last longer ? Or should I buy the correct battery and fit it ? Funny enough,Nissan fit both of these batterys to Micra fobs,depending on the spec of locking ! Thanks for looking.

  First car for my 17 year old son - should I buy: 1. 2008 Nissan Micra 1.2 Activa, air con, one owner (local vicar!). FSH  (main dealer who supplied the car), local, 2 year warranty, 3 yrs RAC £3,995   or 2. 2005 Toyota Aygo 1.0 Platinum, air con, two owner, FSH Private Purchase £3,500 About the same on his Insurance policy (£1,800!!)

  Hi again, hope all are well ! Ok, so my hubby has now set his sights on a Nissan Terano 93 2.7L TDcI - it looks incredible and we've checked the "Whats good/Whats bad" etc. The only thing is, its from a company that imports international vehicles - this one comes from Japan.

  I have just had to take my car in to have the rear brake discs & pads renewed due to the rear pads going down to the metal. This after my local Nissan dealership advising me a few weeks ago during a standard service that the brakes should be checked in 6 months time/ 6,000 miles and that the rear brakes were half worn! They wouldn't pay for the disc renewal with the local garage, suggesting that I bring the parts in at which time they will assess them and pay if there is a fault.

  Most sites I read say it lasts life of car I am a mechanical plum and have no idea Can anyone help?? Nissan quoted when asked £700 for timing chain replacement **WORRIED *** should I not use the car? it started about a year ago !!!

  Of course we'll take it to the local dealer tomorrow to have it taken care of but I was surprised that it has used so much oil. In fairness, I didn't check the oil level when she took delivery of the car, but is the 1.8 Nissan engine noted for its oil lust?

  Has anyone else got this engine, maybe in a Renault or Nissan Micra? When I bought mine I was averaging 49mpg, it was quite an event getting it to 50mpg. Now after almost 12000 miles and an oil change, it is averaging 56mpg. I have done the brim to brim checks and it equates accurately with the digital display.

  Hi folks, Got to change the oil on a '93 Nissan Sunny 1.4 tomorrow, but the car isn't really relevant. I have four or five part-used bottles of oil. All 10W/40, all semi-synth, all good API SL stuff, all suitable for the car, but three different brands.

  OK just so you all know - I am not launching a takeover bid on this site! Unless I can find the right van for me, I am very tempted with a new Nissan Primestar (Same as new trafic) for deposit of £2k, around £40 pw then a final payment to keep the vehicle should I so choose, or just recycle the deal in 3 years time. Do any of you have knowledge of this firm and how they operate?

  This weeks Autocar 3 Feb, and Auto Express 4-10 Feb, both have Subaru road tests. At least, the Autocar does, but the Auto Express has a comparison between the Outback and the Nissan XTrail. Generally, I regard Autocar in the same way as one of the other backroomers, 'written by overexcited schoolboys'. - I wish that I had thought of that myself. - I wish, too, that the magazine' Car Design & Technology' would recommence.

  Hi, My GF has an old Nissan Sunny which is G reg and has a few months MOT left on it. Her parents are about to give her their car when they replace it (not as flash as it sounds). The bodywork is a bit rusty in parts (the CAR!)

  I want to buy a front strut brace for my Nissan QX (they are alleged to improve handling). There are plenty from sale on the US Ebay site, mostly priced between $8-$20. The snag is that the few vendors I've contacted want about £30-40 for shipping to England.
• Micra glovebox woes 23 Jul 2003 (Forum)
  Nissan Micra K11 96N. The glove box refuses to close. I found that a bit of plastic on the back of glove box cover had sheared off. I superglued this bit back on. After rummaging in the glove box I am now left with: 2 x 1/2 inch metal parts 1 x spring (but I'm not sure if this is from the glove box mechanism!
