Is this Possible ? Are 1988 RS Turbos liable to these problems ? I know these cars were a sort of cross roads cars with some old and some very new technology but does anyone know if immobilizer systems can cause such nasty trouble ? Any help will be much appreciated -
Jeep cherokee with U/S lpg conversion 29 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Hello all, anybody got the knowledge on LPG conversions? Its a Millenium system about 3 years old. It will run the car ok for a few miles then almost shuts off. ( Car will just idle only) Car runs ok on petrol. Diagnostic inconclusive. Ive re-earthed the solenoids, renewed the stepping motor and substituted a new solenoid for each of the 3 in turn. -

Deep Cover 30 May 2003 (Forum)
On my way home last night. At the front at some lights when I notice a blue flashing light on the dash of a car about three cars back. Then in my wing mirror I see the car pull out of the line with rapid flashing blues in the radiator area or poss under bumper, now siren going. It speeds around the traffic and turns left at the junction while on red. -
Rustproofing 24 Sep 2002 (Forum)
Alright, this is really 2 related questions! I was thinking about having my new car Waxoyled after seeing the extent that rust can eat a chassis after just 7 years on old Fiesta. But is it worth it on a 2002 Fiesta? Has rustproofing come on such a long way as to make Waxoyl a waste of money on a new car? -
Air Con - is it worth it? 2 Nov 2001 (Forum)
I have read with interest the various threads over the last few months about air con. When I choose my next car, it likely to be 3 to 4 years old ex fleet and not more than £5K. I intend running the car for another 3 years (30K). For the first time many of the cars falling into this category have air con. -

I have bought some second hand tyres but they came on rims off another car and could see them inflated and checked them fully over so the piece of mind was there when fitted to mine. -
Mazda 626 (2000 - 2002) - 00 2.0 Poor MPG economy 18 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Timing belt, tensioner and water pump were replaced one month before that. Tyre pressure is ok (32psi). The car has covered 64,000 miles, is 9 years old and is in good condition with plenty of main dealer history. I'm not driving it like a boy racer, nor like an old lady. Any ideas of what's causing this slightly disappointing economy? -
Replacing brake calipers and such 12 Feb 2009 (Forum)
where they got all the weather but the same caliper was trouble free on the Rover P6 where they were inboard (thanks goodness, it was a pita just changing the pads) Why would a 4 year old good quality car need such parts? Is it shoddy or too long interval servicing where such things are never cleaned or lubricated, or are these parts not as well made as years ago? -

My Vectra B saloon is over 9 years old - one of the early facelifts. Paint is lifted & rusty metal laminated around both rear wheel arches, quite badly and the paint is soon to come away on one side. Shame as it is a dear old thing that serves well & I have had a very long time. -

Is it just a silly thing to do (no pavements or cycle tracks mind). Should I have rung the police? Did the old bloke survive? Did he cause an accident? Would you have done anything? -- Phil -
Vx Vectra battery & Alarm 17 Nov 2005 (Forum)
I guess it was kind of a blessing as it forced me to splice on a +12V battery from a handy UPS using the fused phone car kit wiring loom while I swapped the old one out, so I did not have to and hunt for the radio codes etc.... but I still had my ear defenders on in case that didn't work :o) Thanks in advance -

MercedesSLK cruise failure 31 Dec 2004 (Forum)
It has only done 23.000 miles with full servicing and two original tyres still on. They also said Mercedes would make no contribution to the unit wearing out at 23,000 miles as the car was so old. What is the diagnosis? How is it cured? John Knox -
Mint 1982 Ford Escort XR3 - should I? 27 Feb 2004 (Forum)
What problems should i look for with the 1.6 CVH motor? Will I still be able to find spares for this car thats as old (young) as me? I consider these a classic, even an investment at the price it is going for (comparing to prices hot Mk1 and 2's fetch). My only problem (at 22 years old) would be insuring it, as it is group 14 - would any insurance comnpanies consider it a classic yet on a limited mileage policy?
