• Mazda 6 Sport 2010 - Clutch Switch 25 Jan 2019 (Forum)
  Is it possible to replace the clutch switch with a toggle switch. Does the switch have any other function other than at startup. My mazda 6 2010 has an issue with the clutch switch, ive had it checked over by 2 people and nothing was found but the switch was replaced anyway (twice) . If i sit in traffic and have to use the clutch to start stop etc red warnings lights come up on the dash, error code P0830 is sent to the ECU.

  I had a accident where i hit another car, it was my fault claim assessed by the insurance company. My car is a Mazda enos roadster the mx5 1991. I have a 400 excess which they said would probably mean that i do not get any money from claiming. I was looking for a replacement only a few weeks back and could not find a decent one for less than a couple of thousand pounds.

  The light, not much later, came on--a replacement compatible sensor was installed--this too came on. I then needed an MOT which failed on "emissions". A genuine Mazda sensor was installed. The car passed the MOT. The light came back on. I had it checked on a diagnostics machine--the light went of for 2 miles then came on again. My garage had the car for an entire day but was unable to give me an answer from the diagnostic tests.

      I am unsure which way to go between:   Skoda Octavia Estate circa 2011/2012 with approx 60k miles (1.4tsi or 1.8tsi) BMW 3 Series Touring circa 2008 with approx 60-70k miles (318 / 320) Mazda 6 Estate circa 2010 with approx 60-70k miles (2.0) All would be petrol engines as not enough miles and the wrong kind of trips to consider diesel.    Does anyone have any strong views on which way to go?

  Currently with a Renault Modus diesel, but also with an older Mazda 2, the semi-automatic robotised-clutch gear selector, when placed in neutral at traffic lights, sometimes fails to engage drive (first gear) to set off. Always seems to happen, embarrasingly, at traffic lights.

  I'm after a similar sized car to my current Mazda 3 Saloon, ideally petrol as i do a few short journeys a week and annual mileage of around 14k With my current 2 litre Petrol Mazda I get around 25mpg around town and 40ish on a long motorway Journey.

  The car was registered September 2012, and was bought new Feb 2013 Mazda dealer. Consequently It had its first dealer service last September, @6000 miles and has now done just over 12000. At weekends I sometimes do a few 2-3 mile journeys while the drive to work is mixed driving conditions c 15 miles.

  hi i bought this motor for my mrs, was in bits as mazda couldnt solve problem whatever it had before,they but new turbo on,and didnt cure it wotever it was so car got stored up. when i bought it, it didnt run,eventually we got it running and it filled garage with smoke etc. took injectors and they were all knackered badly. so put new ones in, starts okish, but sounds like low on compression,but when take for drive goes really well, but on info dash about economy when you thrash it, it goes up to 50ish to gallon, but when ya cruise it goes down to 3 if lucky, is it vacum controlled etc,and only pulls from 2000 rpm. any help be great. thanks

  Given our storage needs I'd thought that a (used; <£8k) diesel estate might suit: an Octavia, say, or a Mazda 6, Mondeo or Avensis. When looking up the luggage capacity of these vehicles, however, they seem to carry little more than the respective hatchback, with presumably some disbenefit respecting fuel efficiency.
• Mazda 6 - Broken exhaust bracket 15 Nov 2010 (Forum)
  I've got a 2l Mazda 6 hatchback with 49k miles on the clock and the exhaust has been rattling recently. The exhaust on the 2l models splits into two just before the rear silencers and the 'Y' piece has a bracket welded onto it that helps to support the exhaust at this point - it is this bracket that has come away from the pipe and is causing the rattle.

  Cars up for consideration, with a 5-6k budget, are Saab 9-5 (I've had quite a few Saabs, feel a fair degree of loyalty to the marque, and quite fancy an Aero estate), Toyota Avensis, Volvo V70, Mazda 6 and Audi (probably too expensive) Some models seem to have a lot of diesels for sale, Mazda particularly. I've read plenty of diesel horror stories here ( I think the Mazda may have featured in some of those) so have discounted diesels completely, but just thinking again and wondering if I'm right to do so?

  I've just replaced all four discs and pads on SWMBOs Mazda MX5 as it failed its MOT on these items. I have been unable to get the brake shims back in despite making sure that the pistons in the calipers are fully home. I have been doing jobs like this for years and usually manage to get them back in with a bit of juggling!

Thing is, that's a long drive from here and they're still not saying what will be involved. If they're going to give me an RX8 for the afternoon and let me have some fun with it, I'll go, but I've a terrible feeling that it'll be ten minutes.
