Vauxhall Corsa CDTI 1.3 13 Reg - Engine needs decoking after 19,000 miles 7 Oct 2013 (Forum)
Does anyone know how much this could cost although I have this car under warrenty and knowing my car will stop and start alot because Im a Driving Instructor, could I find this happening again when the warrenty runs out. Vauxhalls have just notified all dealers of this potential problem especially with Driving School car. I believe that this car is not fit for purpose because i asked for a Driving school Spec car so will be looking for a full refund or a compatible car for my business. -
Driving in France - Beware 26 Jul 2013 (Forum)
I've just come back from a great holiday in France - however I witnessed a Gendarme sting exercise in a major service station whilst driving south between Calais and Rouen. There were a few blue Gendarme cars/vans and a double decker car transporter full of cars - some with roof boxes etc.. and as far as I could see as I nervously drove past ALL the cars were from the UK. -
Named driver accidents and insurance 10 Apr 2012 (Forum)
My wife and I are renewing our car insurance, and would like to double check what we do, and do not need to declare. 1. In 2011, my wife was driven into, driving my car, as a named driver on my insurance. The other driver was at fault, and our car was written off. I'm confident I need to declare this. 2. Later the same year, my wife's mum was driving another car, on my wife's insurance as a named driver. -

2008 vw caddy maxi life - engine management light problem 17 Aug 2011 (Forum)
Exhaust pressure sensor circuit high input. The code was cleared, light went off, but after driving for a few miles. it came back on again today. Sometimes it doesn't effect the driving at all but every so often there'd be a dip in power and then off it would go again. Its my wife's car and we've a new born on board so she won't drive it! -

Frightening yourself 18 Jul 2011 (Forum)
I didn't frighten myself so much as Mr Bobbin. I wasn't afraid of driving in the snow over these past bad winters; it's just another condition to tackle, and rain doesn't bother me, but I did once petrify myself taking the M56-M53 sliproad far too quickly (never driven it before, been driving about 2 months, did not know it was that big a curve!!) -
All - Open Windows Cost More Than Air-con 11 Jul 2011 (Forum)
Advertorial alert! The concerned staff at Kwik Fit are very worried that by driving with our windows down, we are collectively wasting £650,000 a year (cf £50,000,000,000+ collective annual fuel bill). Fortunately, the kindly souls have got a solution. They can recharge your air con for only £49 so you don't have to fritter away the £££s by driving with your windows down. -

Ford Mondeo III 1.8LX - Mondeo engine dies whenever I try to drive away 28 Mar 2011 (Forum)
It seems to run fine, for a good 15mins or so at the most while not moving and the car can be crept forwards and backwards very slowly, but as soon as you try to drive it away there is a faint click and the engine dies. A friend has suggested that the immobiliser may need reset. However I seem to recall that when the immobiliser is active, the car will not start at all. -
Where do I stand? 2 Mar 2011 (Forum)
t=84926#m982505 It went to court, I pleaded not guilty, and the court dismissed the matter because the ‘prosecution offered no evidence in relation to an allegation that you drove a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a driving licence’. When my vehicle was seized I was told I could not drive, I posted my old paper licence back to the DVLA and they ‘fast tracked’ my new photo-card licence within seven days. -
Honda Jazz 1.4 SE Sport CVT - Vibration through gas pedal 4 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I have felt a high pitched vibration through the gas pedal one that is suuficient to make my foot uncomfortable whilst driving (vibration white finger effect!). I have just had front pads changed, tracking checked and it is still there when I am driving. It seems to be there on all speeds but with no audible component to the vibration, although my wife says she hears a metallic vibration coming from outside the car on my side. -

Hyundai ix35 - 4x4 Transmission with lock 14 Dec 2010 (Forum)
It was not the car I originally ordered but due to the waiting delays, i had the chance to have this car, so happily drove it home from the dealer on wednesday evening. My question concerns the 4x4 Lock button. The dealer told me that I should not drive above 40mph with this engaged, but if I did the 4x4 would unlock itself & that I had nothing to worry about. Due to the bad weather I have been driving most of the time with the lock on at low speeds & just wanted to check with people more experienced than me on whether I am actually doing any damage & if there is a correct way of driving with the 4x lock on. -
2008 Titanium X 2.0 Petrol - Trip Computer 10 Dec 2010 (Forum)
I would have thought one would have to drive quite a way in a manner quite different from that which produced the "average" figure, to see any change? The mazda did. When in "Consumption now", and driving on cruise control at 50mph, I can sometimes see a variation in the reading between 38mpg and 45mpg within 20yds and with no change of gradient or load. -
Van Parking 25 Oct 2010 (Forum)
I need some advice from you knoledgable people live on a busy road, a bus stop opposite te house a junction 100 meters or so to the left. Paid for a drive a few years ago when I moved in off the road. A few neighbours have drives most have car parking from the rear but do noy use them. Because the road would get blocked if cars where parked on both sides of the road everyone parks on my side of the road The person who lives opposite me has taken to parking his large transit van right on the edge of my drive so when pulling out I can not see traffic coming from the right. -
Honda Jazz 1.4 ES I-Shift (automatic) - Driving smoothly 19 Aug 2010 (Forum)
However, although I have driven many dozens of different automatic cars in the past, I was unable to get this Jazz to drive /accelerate /progress etc smoothly - it was ponderous when deciding to change (whether auto or using paddles) and lurched even when unprovoked. When I pressed the accelerator I was left quite unsure when the car would accelerate etc.
