• Opinions on Volvo C70 Convertible? 16 Sep 2007 (Forum)
  hi all, long time since my last post. Wife has decided she likes the look of the volvo convertible her colleague is selling at work. Car is a 2003 53 reg Volvo c70 convertible. 2.3 T5 turbo engine. Automatic gearbox. Silver body with black hood. Asking price is £8500. Mileage is 127k.

  Secondly, the steering wheel has a slight movement (as if taking up slack) when the car starts from a standstill. HJ suggested balljoints a few months ago, but my specialist Volvo mechanic couldn't find anything wrong. He even got a Volvo service manager down, but in both cases said that 'they're all like that'. Are they? Thanks

  Good morning, I have been offered the following in a private sale and would be grateful for advice as to whether it is a good deal: Volvo V70 D5 estate; 2004, 23,000 miles dark blue with leather. Electric driver's seat. Manual. Full Volvo service history and just been serviced. In vgc except for scratch along one side (estimate to repair £750-1k).

  My Volvo 2.5 SE is approaching the 240k mark, when it will be due its third cam belt change. I am now using a local non-Volvo garage for servicing & they estimated that it will cost about 200 - 250 pounds for this and for renewing the water pump, which might as well be changed too as it driven by the same belt and would have experienced similar levels of wear.

  Flat battery I know but even when jump leads connected it only manages one turn before stopping. I disconnected one of the volvo battery leads (from the battery terminal), assuming the jump leads may have been trying to charge the volvo battery, but to no avail. Any advice. Many thanks Ollie

  I found another tuning centre which can read fault codes for Volvos and they reckon about £150.00 for a full service. Any thouight? Tahnks

  My colleague runs a Volvo 340 G Reg with 130,000 on the clock. He is having considerable problems with a leaking cooling system which a main Volvo dealer has been trying to resolve over 2 months - so far unsuccessfully. They have various ideas as to what may be wrong including a cracked cylinder head and a leaking bore liner (gasket).

  I have the Vadis CD which is a really useful guide to repairs etc but would be much better if I had the connection tool for Volvo cars which would let me find fault codes. Does anyone know of a source please?

  A friend has just bought a 96 Volvo 940 est. 2.3 LPT auto. I believe that the cam belt change intervals are 50k miles can someone confirm this - also is it a difficult job? Thanks

  I have been pondering over which 4X4 to buy with the top 3 picks being Nissan X Trail Tekna, Honda CRV ES and Volvo XC90 SE Till date Nissan and Honda have been leading the race as I wanted the price to be under 30K, though wife has been pushing hard to pick a 7 seater which takes Nissan and Honda out of the race I have received today a compelling ( i would think) offer for a new Volvo XC90 SE.
