Residual value is only ever an estimate - actual value in future years will depend on many things, including how well, or badly, the car's reputation has fared in the intervening time.
Agreed.
Being a Volvo, it's likely to have reasonable residuals, and the fact that the engine re-charges the motor means it will be a lot more desirable than for example a Renault Fluence or Zoe. My estimate would be 45-50% after 3 years.
Volvo recently hosted a series of regional events where you could test drive different models. The V60 Hybrid is simply awesome. It can be driven in Eco mode (electric motor only); Power (mainly diesel with assistance from the motor) or Hybrid (the car decides the power delivery depending on conditions)
In Power mode you have a total of 286 BHP available, mid range urge would frighten some supercars, whilst the electric motor will waft you around adequately using no fuel.
If I had £40k, it would be high on my shopping list.
