  Used car buyers queue up for quality 19 Aug 2009 (News)
  Again, BMW tops the charts. One particular used BMW 118d M Sport had a queue of 145 buyers waiting before it was even on sale.   Plenty of other prestige cars have attracted lots of interest, and not just those with a BMW badge. 108 car buyers asked to be contacted if one Range Rover came back on the market. 95 buyers requested an email if a reserved Volvo XC90 became available again.

  Car manufacturers develop high speed EV charging network 3 Nov 2017 (News)
  European carmakers are joining forces to create a high speed charging network for electric vehicles.  The scheme, which has been jointly developed by BMW, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen, will roll-out a fast charging network across Europe, with the first stations going live in Germany in late 2017. The network will use the Combined Charging System (CCS) and offer a charging power of up to 350kW, which should significantly reduce the time it takes to charge an electric car compared to existing systems. A BMW i3, for example, could be charged in less than five minutes, compared to the current 40 minutes at today's 50kW charging stations.

  BMW is unveiling six new cars at the Geneva Motor Show. Most important is the World debut of the new 3 Series Compact which will compete head-on against Mercedes C Class Sport Coupe. It’s bad news for BMWs, which take every place from one to five. This is likely down to a security flaw which allowed thieves to create a duplicate key and easily make off with the car. BMW promises that it has since rectified the problem, which applied to cars built from 2007 until late 2011.
