Vauxhall Zafira 05 - 2.2 SRi 16v Petrol - Urgent Help Required - Zafira is tottaly dead. 11 Jan 2012 (Forum)
I got into it and tried to start it and nothing. All the lights on the dashboard came on and the radio. But it would not start. Initially I thought it was the starter motor. Got it bumped started and I got it to a garage not a vauxhall maindealer. However upon further investigation it appeared it is not the starter motor it could be something related to behind the ignition could this be a faulty CIM? -
Ford C-MAX 2.0 TDCI GHIA - C-Max electrical failure due to heated rear window 9 Dec 2010 (Forum)
After a while the (10 minutes) or after the car has been switched off for a while the systems come back to life I then have to reenter the car radio code. There seems to be a problem with a common supply to these circuits but without a wiring schematic I have no idea what connections to check and the fault seems to clear itself when at the main dealer so they can not locate the fault. -
Renault Modus (2004 - ) - 05 1.6 Batt drains overnight, on random occasions 29 Sep 2010 (Forum)
The alternator and battery have been checked by both the AA and the Renault dealer, but deemed fine. The only fault code logged was to do with the Radio/CD, which the dealer said was a known potential cause of such an issue. They offered to replace it, for £450, or disconnect it. It got disconnected. Don also got a new battery fitted, just in case it was a weird intermittent cell fault. -
Citroen - 05 2.0 Strange noise, goes when clutch is pressed 1 Jul 2009 (Forum)
The source seems to be between the cabin and the engine, as if from behind the dashboard, like behind the radio, or between the dashboard and the engine. I've opened the bonnet, but from there I can't hear any noise. From inside the cabin it is more noticeable, and it is a bit louder than the engine. Sometimes it sounds like a little person "gurgling" behind the radio! -

Rant about traffic in Leeds today 4 Sep 2007 (Forum)
They put up a road closed sign at the exit of the roundabout and stand leaning against their car chatting and laughing at the traffic. Nor do they even bother to ring the traffic lines on the radio - not a word about it on Radio 2 travel hotline the whole time I was waiting there. And the ones that could set up a diversion are all sitting on bridges on the M62 inside camera vans, one of which I went under rather carelessly at 82mph on the GPS. -
Temporary car?? 28 Nov 2005 (Forum)
MiL may keep Trajet for a few months and I am going spare without central locking, electric windows, a radio and most importantly automatic gearbox, my knees hurt. So, if she does keep the Trajet, I want a car which has automatic, central locking, electic windows, electric heated door mirrors, and ....a radio! -
I wonder if there's anyone like me? 22 Sep 2004 (Forum)
....well I know what I wanted to say but it didn't come out quite right. I personally hate any kind of radio, CD, cassette etc music when I'm driving. For some reason I find it incredibly annoying, especially radio-talk with the damn commercials every 3.3 minutes for shampoos or intimate feminine essentials promoted by soap opera "stars" Thus my cars always get sold on with pristine sound systems. -
Up to date traffic information 4 Jul 2025 (Forum)
I do about 1000 miles a month and constantly see horrendous traffic tail backs on M25 particularly in the region of the river crossing without any mention being given out on radio. I do wonder if this is because its simply considered normal. Brook street M25 junction seems to be a complete lottery whatever time of day.. Thanks in advance -
Reasons for insurance hikes 17 Jan 2024 (Forum)
Posted a while ago on the big increase in my insurance. Guy on the radio from an insurance company said EVs repair costs, the price of parts, apparently some bumpers with all the electrics in some German cars can be £7K. The cost of specialist labour then parts from abroad being held up thereby increasing the length of hire car time all go to making the insurance rise. -
Basic mechanical knowledge - The sad state of UK education 14 Nov 2020 (Forum)
Sunbathing yesterday idly listening to Radio 4 'Brain of Britain', as usual knowing very few answers, I was dismayed by the four competitors' ignorance about what I thought was a very easy question........ 'In the Otto 4 stroke engine cycle, the elements are induction, compression, ignition, and...? -
Forum/website oddity 30 Jun 2020 (Forum)
An example from today: a post date-stamped Mon 29 Jun 2020 11:36 in Technical was not displayed for me either yesterday or first thing (at 8:00) today. It was another request for a Ford radio code, replied to by Galaxy at 10:10 today. It would be interesting to know when Galaxy first saw it. -
Sorento - Center console issue 15 Jun 2020 (Forum)
2014 Kia Sorento. Center console has gone out but I still get one satellite radio station (which I cant change) and the bluetooth still works. Anyone seen something like this before ? I have checked the fuses and all that are either console-related or non-specified look fine. Guessing this could be due to the back up camera but looking for direction before going down the wrong path. -
Peugeot Rifter - Black touchscreen 15 Jul 2019 (Forum)
Got in my 3 week old Rifter this morning to go to work and have no display on the touchscreen. The radio is working as is the USB input (music on a memory stick) however, there is no display, none of the other functions are available as the screen isn't working and my music has started playing in alphabectical order despite me having it on shuffle. -
Colour Change on New Shape Ford Fiesta Display? 3 May 2018 (Forum)
Hi all, I'd just been wondering - a while ago I remember my son telling me that it was possible to change the colour of the dash/radio display inside the most recent shape Ford Fiesta from the blue that it is originally displayed in. My question is - how would one do this? Is it also possible in other superminis such as a Corsa or a Polo or is this a unique feature offered by Ford? -
2009 Honda CR-V - Tyre noise 1 Oct 2015 (Forum)
This is a bad mix anyway I suspect but can any one suggest a quieter tyre please or do I turn up the radio ? Cheers Kevin -
KIA Sorento - CD Player running slow 20 Aug 2013 (Forum)
They are all consistently slow and as a consequence the bass is more accented and the sound balance is awry. Radio is fine. Maybe the two events are unrelated? But what can I do to rectify the cd player speed? -
Audi A6 - MMI 19 Sep 2012 (Forum)
Checked on Audi website and there seems to be a lot of problems with the MMI system. Mine just shut down this afternoon. The screen went blank , no telephone, radio,cd sd anything. When I got home I reset it according to the handbook but still dead. Nothing spilt near or on the operating knob. Any ideas out there. Taking it to Audi apparently can cost up to 1K according to their forum. -

Also the speakers are not working despite a relatively new radio correctly wired and with working facia is this electrical fault all linked? Any help would be greatly appreciated
