Vauxhall Cavalier (1988 - 1995) - '89-'941.6 (c16nz) fuel mixture problem! 29 Dec 2007 (Forum)
(the voltage of l-sensor is not varies) I changed the l-sensor. the same problem I changed the "cold"-sensor on the uptake (after the injection gas jet). the same problem I cleaned the injection. The same problem I changed the ecu and i still have the same problem! The motor light is still flashing (like a bad electric contact) what else i must check?? Thank you Hi I guess you're posting from abroad ! Hope you don't mind but I've filed this under the UK nomenclature of Vauxhall's equivalent Cavalier. -
Vauxhall 14XE engine - a lemon? 10 Mar 2006 (Forum)
Very intermittent and occurs under all conditions; high or low engine speed, during warm up and when at normal temp, on long or short runs and low or high ambient temperatures. I've been told that there is an ECU upgrade for this engine; anyone know anything about this? Thanx in advance. -
Peugeot 406 stalling during warmup 20 Jun 2005 (Forum)
My local garage have cleaned out throttle housing etc, checked for loose or blocked pipes or breathers and added a specialist injector cleaner, but the fault is so temperature dependent that I don?t think any of these are the real cause of the fault. I thought that the ECU is perhaps getting incorrect temperature information from the coolant temperature sensor, but when I trakced it down, there is a nice new shiny sensor already screwed into the housing, so someone has tried to fix this before (yep, we? -
Renault's insane design 12 May 2005 (Forum)
Anyway, the car wouldn't start and after several hours with a 'scope and meter I eventually found a broken wire running from the crank sensor to the ECU. The wires are really thin and the plastic had gone hard and fractured - this on a car only four years old! Anyway I test drove the car and noticed that it was missing slightly and the gearbox was crunching a bit due to 'clutch drag'. -
Focus TDCi injector fault / power loss 29 Apr 2005 (Forum)
The technician said that he has seen a lot of TDCi's with knackered injectors (they seem particularly prone to damage)which feed back data to the ECU, which shuts down the fuel delivery, presumably to prevent further damage. it's not a critical fault, so the glow plug light does not flash. I am told that the best you can expect to pay for an injector is around £300 from an independent, but you still have to get the injector calibration details programmed in by Ford. -
Peugeot non start 3 Aug 2004 (Forum)
Is it the relay which could be faulty cos of my water antics? or is something more severe like the ECU (have checked it and only a small water mark on it which is dry now, shoke it to check theres no water inside). I've checked the fuel line and there's no fuel being pumped (so its not my hearing thats going) . -
Vectra 2.0 DTI acceleration stutter 17 Apr 2004 (Forum)
So far I have found a few links, but they nearly all point to the Air Flow Meter (AFM), I have tried swapping it with a spare, but it didn't make a difference. However when I unplugged the AFM my ECU light came on and I couldn't rev the car over 4000 RPMs. So I'm doubtful that could be the problem. The problem is that when you accelerate between 2500 - 3500 revs the car seems to loose all power for about 1-2 seconds. -
306 XSi Engine behaving oddly... 11 Jan 2003 (Forum)
When it's in this mood and I put it in neutral and take my foot off the throttle normally the engine sinks below idle and dies. Sometimes the ECU revs the car repeatedly and the revs bounce and sometimes it recovers and idles normally. I've just taken it to an independent garage, he cleaned the stepper, changed the fuel filter and refitted the plugs and coil pack. -
Galant UnGalant behaviour 28 May 2002 (Forum)
I haven't the confidence to take a £600 gamble as if that fails apparently the next one is £900 on a new ECU. Has anyone experienced the same fault(s)? Can anyone suggest a cure? Should I keep going until it stops completely making diagnosis easier? Richard -
Fiesta 1.25 Zetec oil pressure.... 17 Apr 2001 (Forum)
I am not averse to taking out a fuse eg, but do I run into further problems with petrol contamination of catalyst? or loss of ECU settings which can be even less desirable? The plug leads are not immediately accessible in the dark! PS For info - Alarm on same car. Having had intermittent alarm problems I finally traced problem to iffy contact on bonnet switch when closed. -

My daughter had a 2016 Nissan Juke that went into a Nissan dealership for a fault. They handed the car back and it would not start, so they asked us to... -
Seat Altea - Seat Altea Breaks Down Randomly 17 Jul 2017 (Forum)
They then told me that they don't deal with gear boxes and I would have to take it to a Gearbox specialist. They then reset the ECU and gave me the diagnostic report. The dealer authorised me to take it to an auto gearbox specialist for a 1h diagnostics. However, the specialist couldn't find any error codes, even after driving it around for a while. -

Citroen Xsara Picasso (2000 - 2010) - 04 1.6 Hdi Non-starter P0087, P1113, P1351 19 Nov 2012 (Forum)
Please help me. I recently bought Picasso with 147,000 miles and it has a Bosch EDC16C3 ECU. While in Somerset the engine died, and the MIL was on. A local garage diagnosed dirty diesel, cleaned the tank, replaced the filter and switched off the MIL. I filled the tank at Morrison?s in Glastonbury. -
Audi A4 Cabriolet (Auto) - Warranty Nightmare!!! 19 Feb 2012 (Forum)
During the time this claim was going on I got my partner to email them and get information on what grounds they cover the ECU on the gearbox and they said as long as there was proof it was working and and pre-inspection was not needed, they would be able to cover the part. I am going to summarise a letter/email to the director of the company and see if anything further can be down but after my nightmare experience of 2 weeks where my car is still at the garage, I am not optimistic at all. -
Why did a Volvo salesman say that a software upgrade would reduce DPF problems with the V50 R-Design? 10 Feb 2011 (Ask HJ)

Ford Mondeo - 03 Reg 2.0 TDCi 65k Miles - DMF issue, I pay 50%?? 25 Sep 2010 (Forum)
After speaking to Trading Standards, they suggested giving the dealer the chance to fix the car before rejecting the car. I let them book the car into Benfield themselves for the ECU update and an IDF check. It came back with no faults technically but that they advised the gearbox needed removing as they suspect flywheel problems. The dealer came back to me saying it would cost them £705 to fix the DMF with new clutch and they would pay 50% towards. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 04 2.0 TDCI 115: Flashing glow plug light 2 Jun 2009 (Forum)
From what I've read the possible causes could be (starting with cheapest option) Camshaft sensor Crankshaft sensor Pressure sensor on fuel pump Fuel filter and fuel gauge sender unit ECU recalibration and recoding injector EGR valve Reconditioning injectors New Injectors So starting with the cheapest option first I've replaced the cam shaft sensor (which is what the AA man did) and reset the ECU and no change. -
