  • Omega cutting-out problems 26 Oct 2001 (Forum)
Has anyone else got problems with their Vauxhall Omega cutting-out whilst in motion/stand-still? This really is irritating as I love the car and would like to get the car LPG converted. But I'm afraid to invest money into LPG conversion before i can cure the cutting out problem. My car serviced every 8k miles and has been fitted with a new idle air control valve and problem persists.
  • Vauxhall Vectra C (2002 - 2008) - 03 1.8 LPG factory conversion using water 3 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Hi, my first post on this forum so go easy on me. I bought a 53 plate lpg factory conversion last summer and it's been driving great since i got it. However last week the radiator water warning light came on and i discovered that it has been consuming water. I drove about 140 miles and it went through about two liters of water.
  • Vauxhall Astra G Petrol (1998 - 2004) - 2003 1.6 dualfuel - Poor running at speed. 27 Dec 2007 (Forum)
Manufacturer: Vauxhall. Model: Astra. Type: Estate. Fuel: Dual fuel - LPG/Petrol. Trim: Elegance. Engine: 1600cc. Registered: 2003. Mileage: 52k. Petrol or LPG at a flat 60 to 70 the engine is juddering - as if fuel is getting cut off and released. This is not just after filling with LPG either as the dealership in question have told me this is the cause as the gas is too cold?!
  • V8 Discovery LPG conversion 29 May 2004 (Forum)
Called out to a K reg Disco suffering from lack of 'go' since being converted to LPG. Didnt take long to find out why, The conversion consisted of a collar fitted to the throttle intake of the plenum chamber through which the gas is fed. Problem is that the inside diameter of the collar is only around 20% of the original throttle plate area effectively strangling the poor thing.

  • Ford Mondeo - LPG? Forget it! 19 Sep 2013 (Forum)
Remeber that there's usually only one pump in each service station that supplies LPG. So you have to queue for that pump. Fuelling takes an age and is much more fiddly. All in all I've had a truly rotten experience with LPG and it has cost me a lot of time and money, never mind the aggravation.
  • Jeep Grand Cherokee - LPG or diesel Grand Cherokee or Mercedes ML 10 Apr 2012 (Forum)
I have been looking at the Grand Cherokee (which I have owned before - earlier model) and cannot decide if I should go for LPG (which I have had before) or diesel (which I drive at the moment - pickup truck). The vehicle on petrol does 17mpg in both the 4.0l straight six and the 4.7 V8. The diesel does 29 mpg.
  • Mazda 6 - LPG Conversion massive increase in fuel use 12 Jan 2011 (Forum)
Happy New Year to all, Just before Christmas I had my Mazda 6 (38-42mpg for 6 months prior to conversion) converted to LPG by a local dealer who has converted 4 previous cars for me without problems. Since this conversion, though, the consumption of both petrol and gas is very lame, at about 21-23mpg. This applies to petrol as well.
  • Mileage advice required 8 Feb 2010 (Forum)
Other possibilities are the new Passat or maybe a new Insignia (which doesn't have as good mpg). Another consideration could be getting a lpg car (or getting a new 1 converted). What are peoples thoughts on this? Would it be possible to get a new Insignia for example, then fit it with a lpg conversion? Rough figures are approx 50 mpg for the insignia but with lpg at almost half the price of diesel, would that mean I could effectively get 100mpg - or does it not work like that?!
  • BMW 5-Series E39 (1996 - 2003) - Are LPG cars in demand? 31 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Hello all I'm thinking of changing car due to an increasing family, and currently have a 2001 520 SE Manual (90k leather, etc) that I had converted to LPG two years ago with a Romano sequential system (tank in wheel well) that cost me £1600. Runs like a dream, very smooth and can't really feel a loss in power. With the current price of petrol, and the relatively lower cost of running on gas, would I get more for my car than an unconverted one?

  • AWD/4WD/camper/economical/auto for 3k max? 21 Jul 2020 (Forum)
I can be flexible on the box, i will go manual if i have to. I would also go LPG but this may make camping in the back problematic due to the LPG tank.   I have been looking at - Audi all roads but the MPG is not great - Nissan x trails - Nissan Qashqais - but the space in the back is poor.
