body repairs 30 Jan 2002 (Forum)
Yesterday i returned to my lexus IS200 to find that some nice person had dented the o/s rear wheel arch. i have visited the Lexus dealer who say's that they will repair the dent and blend it in with the rear door. i am concerned as the car is a silver metallic finish, and as it is quite new, i want to get the best possible repair so that the repair will not notice. i would appreciate any advice on getting the right job done. -
Those wonderful Insurance people 27 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Legalised robbery 2nd only to speed camera's..anyway what i'm peeved at is that they quoted me for a LExus Soarer & now that i've pointed out that its a "Toyota" they wont entertain it, i've pointed out that there is no such car as a Lexus Soarer in RHD & that they are all "Toyota's" therfore "all" Soarers are Grey imports but No No in fact the cover note they sent me said it was a Lexus Sourer & the insurance broker was telling me thats what they had quoted me on not a Soarer!!!! -
Lexus CT 200h - Company car 21 Aug 2015 (Forum)
Hi all, my first post so hopefully in the right place! I currently drive the Lexus Hybrid but am due a new company car early next year. We get an"allowance" of £375 per month to spend on a car. We can chose any car as long as not a convertable and needs to be 4 door. My question is more around the amount we are allowed to spend. -
Which will last longer? 6 Mar 2007 (Forum)
I just want to say a very big and genuine thankyou to Gromit {P}, Mad Maxy and stunorthants 26 for taking the time and trouble to reply to my email. I have learnt a lot from your replies. I personally found the quality of the Lexus IS 250 and 220D sport outstanding. The Audi A4 2.0 litre diesel is also a lovely car.The cabin quality is darned good with Audi.I think it is a very good looking car. I noticed the servicing price is far less with the Audi than it is with Merc. or Lexus. -
Lexus IS200 Gripes? 16 Mar 2001 (Forum)
Does anyone else have either of these minor but very irritating problems with their Lexus IS200? Mine's a March '00 SE model. 1) Severe internal misting of all windows, which can last for hours, then disappears for weeks, then suddenly re-appears. The only way to keep the windows clear is to keep the A/C on all the time. -
Toyota. - Are Toyotas more expensive to insure ? 19 Aug 2024 (Forum)
High price is due to the known theft risk - some insurance companies wont even cover certain Toyota / Lexus products due to the CAN invader theft issue. I didn't know that. I think I kew that Lexus might be more premium and a bit nickable and hence dearer to insure but didn't realise Tyotas were seen as vulnerable. -
Lexus IS200 - National Tyres mess up simple oil change 11 Apr 2012 (Forum)
I saw this well known company advertising an oil change, using Castrol Edge 5w 30 fully synthetic for my Lexus at £38 including filter. I couldnt buy the oil and filter at that price so yesterday had them do it after thinking about if for a few weeks. I woke up this morning to a quite major oil discharge over my new block paved driveway, something just told me this would go wrong. -
Lexus or Subaru? 24 Apr 2007 (Forum)
My priorities are reliability and minimising depreciation, budget £8k (ish). On my recommendation, a friend bought a MY03 2.0 Lexus Sport Cross which she thinks is fantastic. I am equally impressed with the build quality, but less so with the rear end styling and practicality. Over 10 years I have owned 3 Legacy estates..my last R reg GLS bought from a friend for £3500 and sold 4 years later (with difficulty) for £1900. -

Lexus 460 - what connects the steering 27 Apr 2019 (Forum)
I followed the link HJ gave to a question in his weekly advice column, Lexus 460 review page, i've always thought the 460 one of the best large saloon cars ever made. This is copied and pasted from the recalls section '' 19-5-2010: As a result of customer feedback, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) is preparing a recall of some Lexus LS 600h and LS 460 models equipped with the Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS). -
Lexus CT 200h - Hybrid Unwanted Acceleration 6 Jul 2014 (Forum)
Hi John In September I purchased on a PCP through the Lexus Finance Group a 12 month old CT200h car. The driving experience was very different however I required an automatic car that had a good mpg so a hybrid with many extras appeared to be a good solution.
