  • Car Auctions - What can I expect? 1 Feb 2005 (Forum)

  • Music to drive to? 22 Nov 2004 (Forum)
This thought was sparked by the appeal for opinion poll subjects: Do you listen more to Radio, Tape, CD music or CD books? What's your favourite track/artist to drive to - I love a nice windy back road and Meatloaf blasting from the stereo. What's yours?
  • Hats off to Direct Line 7 Aug 2004 (Forum)
Item on the radio tonight, from Monday Direct Line will not decrease the no claims bonus of any policy holder who is hit by an uninsured driver. Nor will it charge the excess on the policy. Apparantly the government are also working on a solution to the problem of those who refuse to insure.

  • Mazda 2 - Battery replacement 11 Dec 2021 (Forum)
Odd thing is, when I picked up the car I set about re-pairing up my phone with the bluetooth expecting that it and the radio pre-set channels had been wiped when the battery was swopped out. Was very surprised to see that my phone was still connected to the car and my favourite radio stations were still there. Do modern cars have back-up power when a battery dies and is replaced?
  • Fuels and their money - advice from HJ 19 Jan 2016 (Forum)
NG, Gosport The man on your local radio station was living in the past. All new cars are optimised and calibrated for the ECDC economy and CO2 lab tests on the highest grade fuels available, which are usually Shell V-Power Nitro Plus petrol and diesel.

  • Renault Kangoo Van - Renault keys/immobiliser - Kangoo Van 18 Jan 2014 (Forum)
After starting it twice and then driving it home, I've managed to immobilise it somehow. I was playing with  the radio with the key in ignition position 1, no problem, wanted to put ignition 2 on to check the headlights and it's kind of gone dead, no lights on dash, radio won't come on, nothing. Red light on dashboard is flashing away.
  • SEAT Ibiza III 1.4TDi (2007) - Temp loss of all electrics on start up. 22 Jul 2011 (Forum)
30 seconds later, hear fuel pump pressurise, all the needles on the dash (speed, revs, temp, fuel) shake up and down for 3 seconds. Clock and Radio reset everything back to normal. Can anyone explain what might have happened, and should I be worried? Regards Phil
  • Fiesta 1.25 Zetec 12 Dec 2005 (Forum)
Given this is a Japanese designed aluminium engine (I think Yamaha), is there a special coolant and anti-freeze I should use? 4. What oil grade? 5. Anything else. The radio code is lost. Is there a way to sort this out without removing the radio itself? Can find it on t'internet. TIA -- Espada III - well if you have a family and need a Lamborghini, what else do you drive?
  • Landcruiser Colorado - electric aerial 16 Dec 2004 (Forum)
The dealership says that it needs a new electric motor which costs almost £200! - their argument was that at least the radio would work now even though the aerial isn't functioning properly (OK, fair enough). My main questions are.... a). Has anyone come across this before? b). Do you think it really needs a new motor?
  • SEAT Ibiza CD or autochanger 11 Nov 2004 (Forum)
I looked on the SEAT website and their autochanger is about £250, possibly plus cables (not sure) then plus fitting. I haven't looked too closely yet, but it seems the radio is fitted behind a fancy display, so replacement with a straightforward slot type is probably out of the question. I also don't know whether the radio is designed, and the car is wired, to make the addition of the autochanger simple.
