  I am looking to buy a small car to lightly modify (maybe alloys,exhaust system and window tints).I have looked at the 02-04 plate Ford Focus TDCI and the 51-03 plate Volkswagen Golf TDI.Does anyone know whether full exhaust systems can be fitted to diesel cars?Can anyone recommend a small car similar to the ones above which are reliable,economical and cheap to insure (bearing in mind that im 18 with 1 years no claim bonus).

  Anyone else with a Volkswagen group car noticed how prone the paintwork is to stone chipping? My SEAT Ibiza (otherwise admirable) is peppered with stone chips to the extent that I may eventually need to have the bonnet and front wings resprayed.

  Just been looking on the HJ article about issues with the new 1.5 TSi engine. At the end it says "With the launch of the 1.5-litre engine, Volkswagen bucked the downsizing trend by replacing a 125PS 1.4 four-cylinder unit with a 1.5 four-cylinder producing 150PS." What nonsense.  There was a 1.4 TSi 125 PS version and that has been replaced by a 1.5 130 PS version.
