Peugeot 406 (1999 - 2004) - 99 2.00 Fuel Promblem 6 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Hi new on so here go's I have a Peugeot 406 diesel Est. it was running fine up until 4 weeks ago then it started to cut out when i put my foot down a little on the motoway, i pull over sat for 5 mins then it started again, it slowly got worse over 3 weeks, then one day on my way home from work it just stopped all together, also when it cut a light came on the one for the fuel injection one, so i was told it could be the relay for the glow plugs, i change that, then i put new glow plugs in it, i changed the fuel filter and it still wont start, i,ve now been told it could be the fuel pump in the fuel tank. -

1984, The last big diesel engine wax up. You? 19 Sep 2008 (Forum)
On one of the trips down in a petrol Fiesta it was well below freezing, perhaps below minus 10C and just about every truck on the road, entering Wales, seemed to have pulled over with a waxed fuel supply. In Swansea bay the sea was actually frozen in piles as the surf hit the shore. I had at this point almost chosen a Fiesta diesel, which would have been my first and the incident put me off diesel until 1991. -
Bio Diesel 2 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Hi there I own a Peugeot 406 HDi on a 02 plate, and I want to try running it on Bio Diesel at 5 or 10% but I cant find out from Peugeot UK if this will harm the engine. They claim to have no information on the subject! I also have the option of using 100% Bio Diesel, but as the car is still under warranty I don't want to cause any problems. -
A coincidence? Diesel leak. 4 May 2005 (Forum)
Three days after my diesel mondeo had been in the garage to be emptied of petrol (silly boy!) the hose from the tank to the filter (the one used to pump out the tank) worked loose at the engine end and sprayed out £27 worth of diesel over about 4 miles. -
"Stick with same brand of premium diesel" 26 Jun 2018 (Forum)
HJ says to stick with the same brand of premium diesel. A case could be made for alternating brands. First, no make's additive is going to be incompatible with another's. The publicity would be damaging and liability could only be discharged if any incompatibility were made public. -

Citroen C5 (2001 - 2008) - 2.2 HDI Diesel Additive 15 Apr 2005 (Forum)
I was out for a short while this evening, during which time I filled the car with fuel. Shortly afterwards, as I drove home, the multifunction display flashed up a message for a few seconds. Bleeding diesel 26 Aug 2001 (Forum)
In the handbook for my Vectra 2.0DTi it gives instructions for restarting the car if the tank has become completely empty. For the X1.7DT diesel engine it goes on to say it can be restarted by automatically bleeding the fuel system by use of the starter motor. For the X20 DTL engine however it says. "Never let tank become empty!!" "On account of the very high injection pressure a complicated procedure is required to bleed the system, this must be carried out by a Vauxhall Dealership". -
