  I would like something in the 12k bracket that is fun to drive and reasonably reliable. My choices are between 2yo VW golf GTI, Audi A3 1.8T or Alfa 156 2.0T-spark. My wife drives an Audi A4 which can not be faulted (apart from its ability to attrach immobile pedestrian barriers at the local retail park), so the A3 seems a good choice, if overpriced.

  I bought a 2005 Audi A4 from a deal in Feb, ie 3 months ago. I have put slightly under 1000 miles on it. It has 75k miles. It was sold with service history and 6 months warranty, in fact the ad said just had major service.

  Apologies once again for what is a very broad swathe of questioning, but after two garages (Porsche and Audi) the choice is seemingly harder, and far from impartial when you do ask the sales rep. When you mention the shortlist , said salesperson then proceeds to spend more time denigrating the other makes than promoting his or her own!

  But I don't care about the air-con, all I want is the cooling system AND THE FANS to be operational, at least for now.   Now, that being said I have a question.   I have a 2004 Audi A3 SE TDI 2.0. (I believe it's an 8p1)   If the problem really is the "fan control module", and I believe it is. Is the "fan control module" also on the back of the biggest fan for my car's model being from 2004 or is it elsewhere?

  Hi, I purchased a car Audi A5 coupe 2009 for around £14k with 62k on the clock from an Independent Dealer. However the car seems to be using a lot more oil than the tolerated amount. It is using up to 2.55 litres per 1000kms.

  Hi, I recenlty came across a post on Audi-Sport from a member who had his misfire mystery solved by kind members of this forum. I'm hoping you can do the same for me. My Audi S3 (2001) AMK keeps having multiple misfires across cylinders 1,3 and 4.

  Hi Everyone, Hope everyone is doing well, this is my first post so please be gentle, haha. Would appreciate any advice regarding my newly acquired Audi A3, only had the car a week and up till today it was a dream come true owning my first Audi, I've always wanted to own an A3 and been chuffed to bits so far(Sorry i'l cut to the chase). Yesterday when i returned home after a short 10min drive, before i switched off the engine i noticed as i sat in neutral that the engine rev's had dropped from a steady 900RPM, to between 500-900 rpm, which was making the car sound like it was "chugging"(best word i can think off).

  What is the diff between the 250 and 220? (Yes I have looked at the c by c) Given that I know there are problems with the audi's cat can anyone say which car is the best for motorway driving and should give the least trouble. My budget should be around £8500 which should get me nice 97 audi. Or can anyone recommend a better alternative.

   As soon as you walk into a showroom and mention that you're not interested in PCP, you can visibly see a switch turn off in the salespeople's eyes - the ones at Audi and VW couldn't have been more disinterested! Thank you.

  I have a Audi A3 1.6 2010 petrol With 95000 miles. The car struggles to get over over 4000RPM. Along side this, in low revs I can put my foot to the floor and it doesn’t go anywhere, especially and most commonly in second gear.

  A 2 years old, low mileage CR-V is almost £5k cheaper than like for like Q5. My head says CR-V but heart says Q5! I've always liked Audis but never owned one. CR-V plus point for me: Lots of space at the rear and flat floor would mean no complaints from kids Bigger boot Long term reliability should be better Auto gearbox has lots of good reviews.

   I had a Jaguar XF in 2010 from new and to date it was the best car I have driven. I'm looking at Audi A8 / A6 saloons and for £25k you can buy a fairly new car (2 years old) in 3.0L diesel guise with less than 30,000 miles - main dealer prices.  Am I mad? I do around 15,000 miles a year, so just about diesel territory - my journies tend to be no less than 50 miles each way.

  I may be wrong but I think Gordonbennet and Bromptonaut live in that general area, so they or others may be able to help. On Audis, I do like them a lot; my nom de clavier comes from the A4 Avant 2.5 TDI that I had when I first joined the forum in 2004.  But I find it a little difficult to justify the extra cost of an Audi over an identically powered Skoda: £1,000 or £2,000 perhaps but the difference is quite a bit more than that.

  I'm seriously considering buying a new Audi A3 Sportback SE 1.4 TFSI 122 PS. It's probably gonna be my 'death car' so I've decided to go slightly upmarket!
