which fuel (petrol) 8 Aug 2003 (Forum)
petrol stations - and the misfire never recurred. I'm sure it's fine to use from time to time, but since then I would no longer use supermarket fuel ALL the time. In any case, the price advantage seems much lower nowadays than it used to be. -
Honest John's Motoring Agony Column 07-10-2017 Part 1 3 Sep 2019 (Forum)
I did have each serviced by BMW at the correct service intervals which might have had something to do with it. Oh, and both diesels ran on 'supermarket' fuel the whole time. -
Help - which used family car to buy? £5500 10 Jan 2013 (Forum)
I have read on here the sage of diesels repair costs and am now very hesitant to go for these though. The difference in fuel and tax costs of diesel to petrol for me would be about £700 a year though by my calculations, in favour of diesel obviously. -
Any - Any-ICE Ban in 2032 22 Oct 2018 (Forum)
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-45899580 Oh great, so charging towards another half thought out scheme like we did with diesels. Lots of talk about banning this and that, but wheres the infrastructure, wheres this magic pollution free electricity coming from to power our all electric cars. I think a lot more people would consider an electric car if they could see some improvement in the existing charging network - outside the capital for a change. The only places I see charging points around here are in supermarkets, who have the council mandated 2 spaces, which are usually out of operation or have a non electric car parked in them -
£3k budget - low insurance estate cars? 17 May 2011 (Forum)
Hello all, I'm looking to replace my 306 HDi, whose head gasket sprung a leak during the week and is now demanding a series of rather expensive repairs. I'm attracted to the idea of getting another diesel, but not sure I put enough miles in to make it worthwhile - driving is mostly 5 mile weeks doing the supermarket run, with one or two longer motorway trips a month.. All told about 4-5k miles a year max. -
Honda FRV - fuel consumption query 22 Feb 2011 (Forum)
Sad I know, but I watch the fuel consumption of both cars. Recently, I filled up the Honda with a tank of diesel at a local supemarket. I calculated that the fuel consumption had dropped about 10%. I put this down to a few short trips recently. When I took the other car, a new diesel Peugoet 308, to the same garage, and filled up, this car also seemed to have seen a similar drop. -

Ford S-MAX (2006 - ) - 2.0 tdci the definitive treatment 25 Oct 2007 (Forum)
We were quite concerned to see all the problems with Mondeo III 2.0 tdci we understand it is the same engine.
