Hmm It aint no VW

After owning a Vectra 2.2 DTi Elite (slow as heck) a BMW 2.0 DT 180 (quick as heck) then a VW Jetta 170 (just fabas rapid) the new Insignia has been a puzzling experience.
Almost a year on I still can't make up my mind if I like it or hate it. It's nowhere near as quick as the Germans it has a nasty turbo lag but when driving hard it sounds like you are going fast - I can't make up my mind if there is something in the cockpit that makes it sound like you are Colin Mcrae or if it's my imagination - especially as it's derv powered.
The sound system is terrible to the extent where I'm considering whether I should part with a good few hundred bucks (that I don't have) to sort it or just carry on trucking with the stereo off. The car is is 2012 and does not even feature bluetooth connection to phone only a teasing phone button on the steering wheel that only mutes the terrible sounding stereo so that you can I guess take a call and get busted by the feds for undue care and attention.

Going back to the sound while driving - it also sounds like one of the windows is open when you are driving despite them not being open and WTF no electric windows in the back - you got to be kidding me, have we time warped back to the eighties?

Ok Nitty Gritty.
Pros
Doors lock when you drive off (good for avoiding mugging in London).
Newer than last car - Nice looking alloy wheels.

Cons
Sluggish turbo.
c*** stereo.
Expensive tyres (twice as much as Jetta / BMW / Vectra).
Road noise.
Lack of Bluetooth for phone.
Bit claustrophobic in the cockpit.
MOT Due - let's see where that goes...
Oh resale value is just terrible.
Oh yeh insurance is a load more than last cars what is all that about?
